Abstract

A structure where there are self-contained subframes/slots with smaller TTIs within the subframes/slots is provided to address the issues in MMW scheduling. In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may transmit downlink information to at least one UE using a plurality of downlink TTIs within a subframe/slot. The apparatus may receive uplink information from the at least one UE using at least one uplink region within the subframe/slot. In another aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may receive downlink information from a base station using at least one downlink TTI within a subframe/slot. The subframe/slot may include a plurality of downlink TTIs and at least one uplink region. The apparatus may transmit uplink information to the base station using the at least one uplink region within the subframe/slot.

Claims (92)

1. A method of wireless communication of a base station, comprising:

transmitting downlink information to a user equipment (UE) using at least one of a plurality of downlink transmission time intervals (TTIs) within a subframe or slot, wherein the at least one of the plurality of downlink TTIs within the subframe or slot comprises a downlink control block; and

receiving uplink information from the UE using at least one uplink region within a same subframe or slot as the subframe or slot, wherein the at least one uplink region within the same subframe or slot comprises an uplink control block having a plurality of symbols, each of the plurality of symbols corresponding to a respective UE scheduled in the subframe or slot, and wherein each of the plurality of symbols in the uplink control block is smaller than a symbol in a downlink data block of a downlink TTI.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein a number of the plurality of symbols is specified through higher layer signaling.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein a number of the plurality of symbols is specified in at least one downlink control block of the plurality of downlink TTIs.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the at least one uplink region comprises two or more uplink TTIs.

The method of claim 1 , wherein the downlink control block of an earliest downlink TTI of the plurality of downlink TTIs is synchronized across base stations, wherein the downlink control block of the earliest downlink TTI comprises control information related to a subsequent downlink TTI of the plurality of downlink TTIs.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the uplink control block of the at least one uplink region is synchronized across base stations.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the respective downlink control block of each downlink TTI specifies resource allocation on the downlink TTI.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the respective downlink control block of a downlink TTI indicates a number of combined TTIs within the subframe or slot or a size of each combined TTI.

9. A method of wireless communication of a base station, comprising:

transmitting downlink information to a user equipment (UE) using at least one of a plurality of downlink transmission time intervals (TTIs) within a subframe or slot, wherein the at least one of the plurality of downlink TTIs within the subframe or slot comprises a downlink control block having a plurality of symbols; and

receiving uplink information from the UE using at least one uplink region within a same subframe or slot as the subframe or slot, wherein the at least one uplink region within the same subframe or slot comprises an unlink control block and two or more uplink TTIs, wherein each of the plurality of symbols in the downlink control block corresponds to an uplink TTI of the two or more uplink TTIs, and wherein each of the plurality of symbols in the downlink control block of the subframe or slot is smaller than a symbol in a downlink data block of the subframe or slot.

10. A method of wireless communication of a user equipment (UE), comprising:

receiving downlink information from a base station using at least one downlink transmission time interval (TTI) within a subframe or slot, the subframe or slot comprising a plurality of downlink TTIs and at least one uplink region, wherein the at least one downlink TTI within the subframe or slot comprises a downlink control block; and

transmitting uplink information to the base station using the at least one uplink region within a same subframe or slot as the subframe or slot, wherein the at least one uplink region within the same subframe or slot comprises an uplink control block having a plurality of symbols, each of the plurality of symbols corresponding to a respective UE scheduled in the subframe or slot, and wherein each of the plurality of symbols in the uplink control block is smaller than a symbol in a downlink data block of a downlink TTI.

11. The method of claim 10 , wherein a number of the plurality of symbols is specified through higher layer signaling.

12. The method of claim 10 , wherein a number of the plurality of symbols is specified in at least one downlink control block of the plurality of downlink TTIs.

13. The method of claim 10 , wherein the at least one uplink region comprises two or more uplink TTIs.

14. The method of claim 10 , wherein the downlink control block of an earliest downlink TTI of the plurality of downlink TTIs is synchronized across base stations, wherein the downlink control block of the earliest downlink TTI comprises control information related to a subsequent downlink TTI of the plurality of downlink TTIs.

15. The method of claim 10 , wherein the uplink control block of the at least one uplink region is synchronized across base stations.

16. The method of claim 10 , wherein the respective downlink control block of each downlink TTI specifies resource allocation on the downlink TTI.

17. The method of claim 10 , wherein the respective downlink control block of a downlink TTI indicates a number of combined TTIs within the subframe or slot or a size of each combined TTI.

18. A method of wireless communication of a user equipment (UE), comprising:

receiving downlink information from a base station using at least one downlink transmission time interval (TTI) within a subframe or slot, the subframe or slot comprising a plurality of downlink TTIs and at least one uplink region, wherein the at least one downlink TTI within the subframe or slot comprises a downlink control block having a plurality of symbols; and

transmitting uplink information to the base station using the at least one uplink region within the subframe or slot, wherein the at least one uplink region within the subframe or slot comprises an unlink control block and two or more uplink TTIs, wherein each of the plurality of symbols in the downlink control block corresponds to an uplink TTI of the two or more uplink TTIs, and wherein each of the plurality of symbols in the downlink control block of the subframe or slot is smaller than a symbol in a downlink data block of the subframe or slot.

19. An apparatus for wireless communication, the apparatus being a base station, comprising:

means for transmitting downlink information to a user equipment (UE) using at least one of a plurality of downlink transmission time intervals (TTIs) within a subframe or slot, wherein the at least one of the plurality of downlink TTIs within the subframe or slot comprises a downlink control block; and

means for receiving uplink information from the UE using at least one uplink region within a same subframe or slot as the subframe or slot, wherein the at least one uplink region within the same subframe or slot comprises an uplink control block having a plurality of symbols, each of the plurality of symbols corresponding to a respective UE scheduled in the subframe or slot, and wherein each of the plurality of symbols in the uplink control block is smaller than a symbol in a downlink data block of a downlink TTI.

20. The apparatus of claim 19 , wherein a number of the plurality of symbols is specified through higher layer signaling.

21. The apparatus of claim 19 , wherein a number of the plurality of symbols is specified in at least one downlink control block of the plurality of downlink TTIs.

22. The apparatus of claim 19 , wherein the at least one uplink region comprises two or more uplink TTIs.

23. The apparatus of claim 19 , wherein the downlink control block of an earliest downlink TTI of the plurality of downlink TTIs is synchronized across base stations, wherein the downlink control block of the earliest downlink TTI comprises control information related to a subsequent downlink TTI of the plurality of downlink TTIs.

24. The apparatus of claim 19 , wherein the uplink control block of the at least one uplink region is synchronized across base stations.

25. The apparatus of claim 19 , wherein the respective downlink control block of each downlink TTI specifies resource allocation on the downlink TTI.

26. The apparatus of claim 19 , wherein the respective downlink control block of a downlink TTI indicates a number of combined TTIs within the subframe or slot or a size of each combined TTI.

27. An apparatus for wireless communication, the apparatus being a base station, comprising:

means for transmitting downlink information to a user equipment (UE) using at least one of a plurality of downlink transmission time intervals (TTIs) within a subframe or slot, wherein the at least one of the plurality of downlink TTIs within the subframe or slot comprises a downlink control block having a plurality of symbols; and

means for receiving uplink information from the UE using at least one uplink region within a same subframe or slot as the subframe or slot, wherein the at least one uplink region within the same subframe or slot comprises an unlink control block and two or more unlink TTIs, wherein each of the plurality of symbols in the downlink control block corresponds to an uplink TTI of the two or more uplink TTIs, and wherein each of the plurality of symbols in the downlink control block of the subframe or slot is smaller than a symbol in a downlink data block of the subframe or slot.

28. An apparatus for wireless communication, the apparatus being a user equipment (UE), comprising:

means for receiving downlink information from a base station using at least one downlink transmission time interval (TTI) within a subframe or slot, the subframe or slot comprising a plurality of downlink TTIs and at least one uplink region, wherein the at least one downlink TTI within the subframe or slot comprises a downlink control block; and

means for transmitting uplink information to the base station using the at least one uplink region within a same subframe or slot as the subframe or slot, wherein the at least one uplink region within the same subframe or slot comprises an uplink control block having a plurality of symbols, each of the plurality of symbols corresponding to a respective UE scheduled in the subframe or slot, and wherein each of the plurality of symbols in the uplink control block is smaller than a symbol in a downlink data block of a downlink TTI.

29. The apparatus of claim 28 , wherein a number of the plurality of symbols is specified through higher layer signaling.

30. The apparatus of claim 28 , wherein a number of the plurality of symbols is specified in at least one downlink control block of the plurality of downlink TTIs.

31. The apparatus of claim 28 , wherein the at least one uplink region comprises two or more uplink TTIs.

32. The apparatus of claim 28 , wherein the downlink control block of an earliest downlink TTI of the plurality of downlink TTIs is synchronized across base stations, wherein the downlink control block of the earliest downlink TTI comprises control information related to a subsequent downlink TTI of the plurality of downlink TTIs.

33. The apparatus of claim 28 , wherein the uplink control block of the at least one uplink region is synchronized across base stations.

34. The apparatus of claim 28 , wherein the respective downlink control block of each downlink TTI specifies resource allocation on the downlink TTI.

35. The apparatus of claim 29 , wherein the respective downlink control block of a downlink TTI indicates a number of combined TTIs within the subframe or slot or a size of each combined TTI.

36. An apparatus for wireless communication, the apparatus being a user equipment (UE), comprising:

means for receiving downlink information from a base station using at least one downlink transmission time interval (TTI) within a subframe or slot, the subframe or slot comprising a plurality of downlink TTIs and at least one uplink region, wherein the at least one downlink TTI within the subframe or slot comprises a downlink control block having a plurality of symbols; and

means for transmitting uplink information to the base station using the at least one uplink region within the subframe or slot, wherein the at least one uplink region within the subframe or slot comprises an uplink control block and two or more uplink TTIs, wherein each of the plurality of symbols in the downlink control block corresponds to an uplink TTI of the two or more uplink TTIs, a wherein each of the plurality of symbols in the downlink control block of the subframe or slot is smaller than a symbol in a downlink data block of the subframe or slot.

37. An apparatus for wireless communication, the apparatus being a base station, comprising:

a memory; and

at least one processor coupled to the memory and configured to:

transmit downlink information to a user equipment (UE) using at least one of a plurality of downlink transmission time intervals (TTIs) within a subframe or slot, wherein the at least one of the plurality of downlink TTIs within the subframe or slot comprises a downlink control block; and

receive uplink information from the UE using at least one uplink region within a same subframe or slot as the subframe or slot, wherein the at least one uplink region within the same subframe or slot comprises an uplink control block having a plurality of symbols, each of the plurality of symbols corresponding to a respective UE scheduled in the subframe or slot, and wherein each of the plurality of symbols in the uplink control block is smaller than a symbol in a downlink data block of a downlink TTI.

38. The apparatus of claim 37 , wherein a number of the plurality of symbols is specified through higher layer signaling.

39. The apparatus of claim 37 , wherein a number of the plurality of symbols is specified in at least one downlink control block of the plurality of downlink TTIs.

40. The apparatus of claim 37 , wherein the at least one uplink region comprises two or more uplink TTIs.

41. The apparatus of claim 37 , wherein the downlink control block of an earliest downlink TTI of the plurality of downlink TTIs is synchronized across base stations, wherein the downlink control block of the earliest downlink TTI comprises control information related to a subsequent downlink TTI of the plurality of downlink TTIs.

42. The apparatus of claim 37 , wherein the uplink control block of the at least one uplink region is synchronized across base stations.

43. The apparatus of claim 37 , wherein the respective downlink control block of each downlink TTI specifies resource allocation on the downlink TTI.

44. The apparatus of claim 37 , wherein the respective downlink control block of a downlink TTI indicates a number of combined TTIs within the subframe or slot or a size of each combined TTI.

45. An apparatus for wireless communication, the apparatus being a base station, comprising:

a memory; and

at least one processor coupled to the memory and configured to:

transmit downlink information to a user equipment (UE) using at least one of a plurality of downlink transmission time intervals (TTIs) within a subframe or slot, wherein the at least one of the plurality of downlink TTIs within the subframe or slot comprises a downlink control block having a plurality of symbols; and

receive uplink information from the UE using at least one uplink region within a same subframe or slot as the subframe or slot, wherein the at least one uplink region within the same subframe or slot comprises an uplink control block and two or more uplink TTIs, wherein each of the plurality of symbols in the downlink control block corresponds to an uplink TTI of the two or more uplink TTIs, and wherein each of the plurality of symbols in the downlink control block of the subframe or slot is smaller than a symbol in a downlink data block of the subframe or slot.

46. An apparatus for wireless communication, the apparatus being a user equipment (UE), comprising:

a memory; and

at least one processor coupled to the memory and configured to:

receive downlink information from a base station using at least one downlink transmission time interval (TTI) within a subframe or slot, the subframe or slot comprising a plurality of downlink TTIs and at least one uplink region, wherein the at least one downlink TTI within the subframe or slot comprises a downlink control block; and

transmit uplink information to the base station using the at least one uplink region within a same subframe or slot as the subframe or slot, wherein the at least one uplink region within the same subframe or slot comprises an uplink control block having a plurality of symbols, each of the plurality of symbols corresponding to a respective UE scheduled in the subframe or slot, and wherein each of the plurality of symbols in the uplink control block is smaller than a symbol in a downlink data block of a downlink TTI.

47. The apparatus of claim 46 , wherein a number of the plurality of symbols is specified through higher layer signaling.

48. The apparatus of claim 46 , wherein a number of the plurality of symbols is specified in at least one downlink control block of the plurality of downlink TTIs.

49. The apparatus of claim 46 , wherein the at least one uplink region comprises two or more uplink TTIs.

50. The apparatus of claim 46 , wherein the downlink control block of an earliest downlink TTI of the plurality of downlink TTIs is synchronized across base stations, wherein the downlink control block of the earliest downlink TTI comprises control information related to a subsequent downlink TTI of the plurality of downlink TTIs.

51. The apparatus of claim 46 , wherein the uplink control block of the at least one uplink region is synchronized across base stations.

52. The apparatus of claim 46 , wherein the respective downlink control block of each downlink TTI specifies resource allocation on the downlink TTI.

53. The apparatus of claim 46 , wherein the respective downlink control block of a downlink TTI indicates a number of combined TTIs within the subframe or slot or a size of each combined TTI.

54. An apparatus for wireless communication, the apparatus being a user equipment (UE), comprising:

a memory; and

at least one processor coupled to the memory and configured to:

receive downlink information from a base station using at least one downlink transmission time interval (TTI) within a subframe or slot, the subframe or slot comprising a plurality of downlink TTIs and at least one uplink region, wherein the at least one downlink TTI within the subframe or slot comprises a downlink control block having a plurality of symbols; and

transmit uplink information to the base station using the at least one uplink region within the subframe or slot, wherein the at least one uplink region within the subframe or slot comprises an uplink control block and two or more uplink TTIs, wherein each of the plurality of symbols in the downlink control block corresponds to an uplink TTI of the two or more uplink TTIs, and wherein each of the plurality of symbols in the downlink control block of the subframe or slot is smaller than a symbol in a downlink data block of the subframe or slot.

55. A non-transitory, computer-readable medium storing computer-executable code for wireless communication by a base station, comprising code to:

transmit downlink information to a user equipment (UE) using at least one of a plurality of downlink transmission time intervals (TTIs) within a subframe or slot, wherein the at least one of the plurality of downlink TTIs within the subframe or slot comprises a downlink control block; and

receive uplink information from the UE using at least one uplink region within a same subframe or slot as the subframe or slot, wherein the at least one uplink region within the same subframe or slot comprises an uplink control block having a plurality of symbols, each of the plurality of symbols corresponding to a respective UE scheduled in the subframe or slot, and wherein each of the plurality of symbols in the uplink control block is smaller than a symbol in a downlink data block of a downlink TTI.

56. A non-transitory, computer-readable medium storing computer-executable code for wireless communication by a user equipment (UE), comprising code to:

receive downlink information from a base station using at least one downlink transmission time interval (TTI) within a subframe or slot, the subframe or slot comprising a plurality of downlink TTIs and at least one uplink region, wherein the at least one downlink TTI within the subframe or slot comprises a downlink control block; and

transmit uplink information to the base station using the at least one uplink region within a same subframe or slot as the subframe or slot, wherein the at least one uplink region within the same subframe or slot comprises an uplink control block having a plurality of symbols, each of the plurality of symbols corresponding to a respective UE scheduled in the subframe or slot, and wherein each of the plurality of symbols in the uplink control block is smaller than a symbol in a downlink data block of a downlink TTI.
