Abstract

Device, system, and method of detecting identity of a user based on motor-control loop model. A method includes: during a first session of a user who utilizes a pointing device for interacting with a computerized service, monitoring the pointing device dynamics and gestures of the user; based on the monitored dynamics and gestures, estimating parameters that characterize a sensorimotor control loop model of the user; storing in a database a record indicating that the user is associated with the parameters that characterize the sensorimotor control loop model of the user.

Claims (32)

1. A process comprising:

(a) monitoring spatial acceleration of a mobile electronic device, that is utilized by a user for interacting with a computerized service, by an accelerometer of the mobile electronic device; and monitoring spatial orientation of said mobile electronic device as sensed by a gyroscope of said mobile electronic device;

(b) based on analysis that takes into account at least: (I) spatial acceleration of the mobile electronic device, and also (II) spatial orientation of said mobile electronic device, generating a sensorimotor control loop function that corresponds to coordination abilities of eyes and hand of said user;

(c) differentiating between said user, and one or more other users, based on whether or not fresh gestures of user interactions correspond to said sensorimotor control loop function that was generated for said user;

wherein the analysis of step (b) and the differentiating of step (c) are implemented by:

performing an analysis of (I) user interactions with said mobile electronic device which is equipped with a touch-screen, and (II) spatial acceleration of the mobile electronic device as sensed by the accelerometer of the mobile electronic device, and (III) spatial orientation of the mobile electronic device as sensed by a gyroscope of the mobile electronic device;

based on said analysis, determining a user-specific characteristic that quantifies a level of eye-hand coordination of said user; and utilizing said user-specific characteristic that quantifies the level of eye-hand coordination to perform said differentiating among users.

2. The process of claim 1 ,

wherein generating the sensorimotor control loop function comprises determining motor capabilities and cognitive capabilities that characterize the utilization of said mobile electronic device by said user, based on analysis of both (I) spatial acceleration of said mobile electronic device as sensed by said accelerometer, and (II) spatial orientation of said mobile electronic device as sensed by said gyroscope.

3. The process of claim 1 ,

wherein the analyzing of step (b) comprises:

determining parameters of the sensorimotor control loop function for said user, by estimating parameters that characterize the sensorimotor control loop function as a function of at least one of: (I) translation error, (II) current velocity, and (III) motor control noise, based on monitored spatial acceleration and monitored spatial orientation of said mobile electronic device while said user interacts with the mobile electronic device.

4. The process of claim 1 , comprising:

comparing between (i) current values of a control loop model of a current user, and (ii) previously-stored values of one or more control loop models of one or more previous usage sessions; and based on a result of control loop model parameters comparison, determining whether or not a current user is a same person as a previous user.

5. The process of claim 1 , comprising:

comparing between (i) current values of a control loop model of a current user, and (ii) previously-stored values of one or more control loop models of one or more previous users; and based on a result of control loop model parameters comparison, determining whether or not a current user is a same person as a previous user.

6. A non-transitory storage medium having stored thereon instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform a method comprising:

(a) monitoring spatial acceleration of a mobile electronic device, that is utilized by a user for interacting with a computerized service, by an accelerometer of the mobile electronic device; and monitoring spatial orientation of said mobile electronic device as sensed by a gyroscope of said mobile electronic device;

(b) based on analysis that takes into account at least: (I) spatial acceleration of the mobile electronic device, and also (II) spatial orientation of said mobile electronic device, generating a sensorimotor control loop function that corresponds to coordination abilities of eyes and hand of said user;

(c) differentiating between said user, and one or more other users, based on whether or not fresh gestures of user interactions correspond to said sensorimotor control loop function that was generated for said user;

wherein the analysis of step (b) and the differentiating of step (c) are implemented by:

performing an analysis of (I) user interactions with said mobile electronic device which is equipped with a touch-screen, and (II) spatial acceleration of the mobile electronic device as sensed by the accelerometer of the mobile electronic device, and (III) spatial orientation of the mobile electronic device as sensed by a gyroscope of the mobile electronic device;

based on said analysis, determining a user-specific characteristic that quantifies a level of eye-hand coordination of said user; and utilizing said user-specific characteristic that quantifies the level of eye-hand coordination to perform said differentiating among users.

7. A system comprising:

one or more processors, operably associated with one or more memory units,

wherein the one or more processors are configured:

(a) to monitor spatial acceleration of a mobile electronic device, that is utilized by a user for interacting with a computerized service, by an accelerometer of the mobile electronic device; and to monitor spatial orientation of said mobile electronic device as sensed by a gyroscope of said mobile electronic device;

(b) to perform an analysis that takes into account at least: (I) spatial acceleration of the mobile electronic device, and also (II) spatial orientation of said mobile electronic device; and based on said analysis, to generate a sensorimotor control loop function that corresponds to coordination abilities of eyes and hand of said user;

(c) to perform differentiation between said user, and one or more other users, based on whether or not fresh gestures of user interactions correspond to said sensorimotor control loop function that was generated for said user;

wherein the analysis of (b) and the differentiation of (c) are implemented by the one or more processors being configured:

to perform an analysis of (I) user interactions with said mobile electronic device which is equipped with a touch-screen, and (II) spatial acceleration of the mobile electronic device as sensed by the accelerometer of the mobile electronic device, and (III) spatial orientation of the mobile electronic device as sensed by a gyroscope of the mobile electronic device;

to determine, based on said analysis, a user-specific characteristic that quantifies a level of eye-hand coordination of said user; and to utilize said user-specific characteristic that quantifies the level of eye-hand coordination to perform said differentiation among users.
