Abstract

The present application provides processes for making pesticidal compounds and compounds useful both as pesticides and in the making of pesticidal compounds.

Claims (12)

1. A process for the preparation of secondary amine (1d)

which comprises reacting N-(3-chloro-1-(pyridin-3-yl)-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)acetamide (1c)

with a suitable reducing agent in the presence of an acid.

2. The process of claim 1 , wherein the reducing agent is a hydride source.

3. The process of claim 1 , wherein the reducing agent is sodium borohydride.

4. The process of claim 1 , wherein the acid is a Brønsted acid.

5. The process of claim 1 , wherein the acid is a Lewis acid.

6. The process of claim 5 , wherein the Lewis acid is borontrifluoride etherate.

7. The process of claim 2 , wherein the acid is a Lewis acid.

8. The process of claim 7 , wherein the Lewis acid is borontrifluoride etherate.

9. The process of claim 3 , wherein the acid is a Lewis acid.

10. The process of claim 9 , wherein the Lewis acid is borontrifluoride etherate.
