METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR FACILITATING MULTI-ELEMENT BIDDING FOR INFLUENCING A POSITION ON A PAYMENT LIST GENERATED BY AN AUTOMATED AUTHENTICATION ENGINE

1 . A method for enabling multi-element bidding, the method comprising:

receiving, from an e-commerce platform, a request to complete a transaction, the request comprising device identifying information and a transaction amount;

authenticating a user device utilizing the device identifying information;

identifying one or more payment entities from which to request a bid;

transmitting, both, a request for the bid and authenticated identifying information to the one or more payment entities, the one or more payment entities being payment entities from which to solicit payment options and the bid, to facilitate identification of payment options, each payment option having an associated payment method; and

receiving one or more bids from each of the one or more payment entities, each of the one or more bids indicative of a bid amount each of the one or more payment entities would be willing to pay for placement of an associated payment option.

The method according to claim 1 , wherein authentication of the identifying information is performed by a frictionless two-factor authentication (2FA) process characterized by performing a process by which device identification information of a device currently attempting to access an account is determined and subsequently confirmed via an out-of-band process, as authorized, upon receiving an indication of a request to access the account from a secured system, wherein a frictionless two-factor authentication process comprises:

receiving, from the e-commerce platform, an indication of a request received at the commerce platform to complete the transaction utilizing a device associated with a user, the indication comprising the device identifying information;

providing a network address to the e-commerce platform, the network address configured to be sent to the device from the e-commerce platform;

receiving, from a second entity, second device identification information, the second device identification information determined upon the device accessing to the network address;

performing a real-time comparison between the device identifying information and second device identification information; and

authenticating the device identifying information if a match is detected between the device identifying information and second device identification information.

3 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the one or more payment entities are determined by:

accessing one or more payment entities using the authenticated device identifying information to identify payment options, each payment option having an associated payment method, billing address, and shipping address;

providing, for display, a descriptor associated with each of a portion of the identified payment options; and

receiving an indication of a selection of at least one payment option

4 . The method according to claim 1 , further comprising: receiving, in addition to the bid amount, an indication of one or more benefits with which to display in conjunction with an indication of the payment entity during placement.

5 . The method according to claim 1 , further comprising: receiving, in addition to the bid amount, an indication of a placement characteristic to display the indication of the payment entity during placement.

6 . The method according to claim 1 , further comprising: receiving, in addition to the bid amount, an indication of a desired position to display in conjunction with an indication of the payment entity during placement.

7 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the associated payment method associated with each payment option is a pre-authorized payment method.

8 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein each payment option comprises an associated payment method, billing address, and shipping address.

9 . A computer program product for enabling multi-element bidding, the computer program product comprising at least one non-transitory computer-readable storage medium having computer-executable program code instructions stored therein, the computer-executable program code instructions comprising program code instructions for:

receiving, from an e-commerce platform, a request to complete a transaction, the request comprising device identifying information and a transaction amount;

authenticating a user device utilizing the device identifying information;

identifying one or more payment entities from which to request a bid;

transmitting, both, a request for a bid and authenticated identifying information to the one or more payment entities, the one or more payment entities being payment entities from which to solicit payment options and the bid, to facilitate identification of payment options, each payment option having an associated payment method; and

receiving one or more bids from each of the one or more payment entities, each of the one or more bids indicative of a bid amount each of the one or more payment entities would be willing to pay for placement of an associated payment option.

The computer program product according to claim 9 , wherein authentication of the device identifying information is performed by a frictionless two-factor authentication (2FA) process characterized by performing a process by which device identification information of a device currently attempting to access an account is determined and subsequently confirmed via an out-of-band process, as authorized, upon receiving an indication of a request to access the account from a secured system, wherein a frictionless two-factor authentication process comprises:

receiving, from the e-commerce platform, an indication of a request received at the first entity to access an account from a device associated with a user, the indication comprising at least one instance of device identifying information of at least one device having authorization to access the account;

providing a network address to the e-commerce platform, the network address configured to be sent to the device from the e-commerce platform;

receiving, from a second entity, second device identification information, the second device identification information determined upon the device accessing to the network address;

performing a real-time comparison between the device identifying information and second device identification information; and

authenticating the device identifying information if a match is detected between the device identifying information and second device identification information.

11 . The computer program product according to claim 9 , wherein the one or more payment entities are determined by:

accessing one or more payment entities using the authenticated device identifying information to identify payment options, each payment option having an associated payment method, billing address, and shipping address;

providing, for display, a descriptor associated with each of a portion of the identified payment options; and

receiving an indication of a selection of at least one payment option

The computer program product according to claim 9 , wherein the computer-executable program code instructions further comprise program code instructions for: receiving, in addition to the bid amount, an indication of one or more benefits with which to display in conjunction with an indication of the payment entity during placement.

The computer program product according to claim 9 , wherein the computer-executable program code instructions further comprise program code instructions for: receiving, in addition to the bid amount, an indication of a placement characteristic to display the indication of the payment entity during placement.

The computer program product according to claim 9 , wherein the computer-executable program code instructions further comprise program code instructions for: receiving, in addition to the bid amount, an indication of a desired position to display in conjunction with an indication of the payment entity during placement.

15 . The computer program product according to claim 9 , wherein the associated payment method associated with each payment option is a pre-authorized payment method.

16 . The computer program product according to claim 9 , wherein each payment option comprises an associated payment method, billing address, and shipping address.

17 . An apparatus for enabling multi-element bidding, the apparatus comprising at least one processor and at least one memory including computer program code, the at least one memory and the computer program code configured to, with the processor, cause the apparatus to at least:

receive, from an e-commerce platform, a request to complete a transaction, the request comprising device identifying information and a transaction amount;

authenticate a user device utilizing the device identifying information;

identify one or more payment entities from which to request a bid;

transmit, both, a request for a bid and authenticated identifying information to the one or more payment entities, the one or more payment entities being payment entities from which to solicit payment options and the bid, to facilitate identification of payment options, each payment option having an associated payment method; and

receive one or more bids from each of the one or more payment entities, each of the one or more bids indicative of a bid amount each of the one or more payment entities would be willing to pay for placement of an associated payment option.

The apparatus according to claim 17 , wherein authentication of user identifying information is performed by a frictionless two-factor authentication (2FA) process characterized by performing a process by which device identification information of a device currently attempting to access an account is determined and subsequently confirmed via an out-of-band process, as authorized, upon receiving an indication of a request to access the account from a secured system, wherein a frictionless two-factor authentication process comprises:

receiving, from the e-commerce platform, an indication of a request received at the commerce platform to complete the transaction utilizing a device associated with a user, the indication comprising at least one instance of he device identifying information;

providing a network address to the e-commerce platform, the network address configured to be sent to the device from the e-commerce platform;

receiving, from a second entity, second device identification information, the second device identification information determined upon the device accessing to the network address;

performing a real-time comparison between the device identifying information and second device identification information; and

authenticating the device identifying information if a match is detected between the device identifying information and second device identification information.

19 . The apparatus according to claim 17 , wherein the one or more payment entities are determined by:

accessing one or more payment entities using the authenticated device identifying information to identify payment options, each payment option having an associated payment method, billing address, and shipping address;

providing, for display, a descriptor associated with each of a portion of the identified payment options; and

receiving an indication of a selection of at least one payment option

The apparatus according to claim 17 , wherein the at least one memory and the computer program code are further configured to, with the processor, cause the apparatus to: receive, in addition to the bid amount, an indication of one or more benefits with which to display in conjunction with an indication of the payment entity during placement.

The apparatus according to claim 17 , wherein the at least one memory and the computer program code are further configured to, with the processor, cause the apparatus to: receive, in addition to the bid amount, an indication of a placement characteristic to display the indication of the payment entity during placement.

The apparatus according to claim 17 , wherein the at least one memory and the computer program code are further configured to, with the processor, cause the apparatus to: receive, in addition to the bid amount, an indication of a desired position to display in conjunction with an indication of the payment entity during placement.

23 . The apparatus according to claim 17 , wherein the associated payment method associated with each payment option is a pre-authorized payment method.

24 . The apparatus according to claim 17 , wherein each payment option comprises an associated payment method, billing address, and shipping address.
