Abstract

An information storage device installed in a removable device configured to be removably installed in an image forming apparatus body, includes: an information storage unit that stores information communicated between the image forming apparatus body and the removable device; a terminal that comes in contact with a body side terminal; and a substrate that holds the information storage unit and the terminal and includes a hole configured to be engaged with a protruding section installed in the image forming apparatus body. The terminal includes a plurality of terminals each including one of a plurality of metallic plates arranged in a transverse direction thereof. An earth terminal, which comes in contact with a body side earth terminal formed in the protruding section, is formed in the hole. The hole is disposed at a position sandwiched between two metallic plates among the plurality of metallic plates.

Claims (43)

1. A container, comprising:

a storage section;

an end to receive powder from the storage section, the end including:

a discharge opening which discharges powder out of the container in a downward direction;

a memory;

a concave section in a face of the end which is perpendicular to the discharge opening, the concave section corresponding to a position of the memory, the concave section being concave when viewed from an exterior of the container; and

a surface on the face of the end which is perpendicular to the discharge opening, the surface disposed below the concave section,

wherein the concave section protrudes into the container more than the surface protrudes into the container.

2. The container according to claim 1 , wherein:

an inner face of the concave section is directly above the discharge opening.

3. The container according to claim 2 , wherein:

powder which falls from the inner face of the concave section falls directly into the discharge opening, when the discharge opening faces in the downward direction.

4. The container according to claim 1 , wherein:

the concave section includes at least two sections which extend into the container with different depths.

5. The container according to claim 4 , wherein:

each of the at least two sections of the concave section includes a corresponding flat face which is parallel to the face of the end and which is perpendicular to the discharge opening.

6. The container according to claim 4 , wherein:

a circuit board to which the memory is mounted, the circuit board including a hole to position the circuit board relative to an image forming apparatus,

the concave section corresponds to a position of the circuit board such that a line extending in a longitudinal direction of the container passes through both the circuit board and the concave section, and

the hole corresponds to an upper one of said at least two sections.

7. The container according to claim 1 , further comprising:

a circuit board to which the memory is mounted,

wherein the concave section corresponds to a position of the circuit board such that a line extending in a longitudinal direction of the container passes through both the circuit board and the concave section.

8. The container according to claim 1 , wherein:

a circuit board to which the memory is mounted, the circuit board including a hole to position the circuit board relative to an image forming apparatus,

wherein the concave section corresponds to a position of the circuit board such that a line extending in a longitudinal direction of the container passes through both the circuit board and the concave section.

9. The container according to claim 1 , wherein:

the container includes a longitudinal direction, and

the face is a front face of the container which is perpendicular to the longitudinal direction.

10. The container according to claim 9 , wherein:

the face faces in an insertion direction of the container into an image forming device.

11. The container according to claim 1 , further comprising: toner within the container.

12. An image forming apparatus, comprising:

the container of claim 1 ; and

an image forming unit to form images using toner from the container.

13. The container according to claim 1 , wherein:

the surface on the face of the end borders a bottom surface of the end which includes the discharge opening.

14. The container according to claim 1 , wherein:

an upper end of the surface on the face of the end joins a lower surface of the concave section.

15. The container according to claim 1 , further comprising:

a space between a lower end of the surface on the face of the end and the discharge opening.

16. The container according to claim 15 , wherein:

the space between the lower end of the surface on the face of the end and the discharge opening is perpendicular to the face of the end.
