2. The fiber optic enclosure assembly of claim 1 , wherein the housing includes a main body that defines a front opening and a movable front cover that pivotally moves between a covered position and an uncovered position, wherein the adapter is not accessible when the cover is in the covered position.

3. The fiber optic enclosure assembly of claim 2 , wherein the main body of the housing is adapted to be connected to a wall.

4. The fiber optic enclosure assembly of claim 2 , wherein the main body defines an environmentally sealed output aperture configured to receive the optical fiber of the subscriber cable.

5. The fiber optic enclosure assembly of claim 4 , wherein the output aperture is one of a plurality of environmentally sealed output apertures.

6. The fiber optic enclosure assembly of claim 1 , wherein the cable storage spool defines apertures configured to receive a pin inserted therethrough to lock the cable storage spool to the housing.

7. The fiber optic enclosure assembly of claim 1 , wherein the fiber optic adapter is an SC-type adapter.

8. The fiber optic enclosure assembly of claim 1 , further comprising a cable finger disposed at an outer circumference of the cable storage spool to assist in cable retention.

9. The fiber optic enclosure assembly of claim 8 , wherein the cable finger is integral with the cable storage spool.

10. The fiber optic enclosure assembly of claim 1 , wherein the fiber optic cable includes a plurality of optical fibers, and further comprising an adapter plate having a row of adapters that are rotatable with the cable storage spool, wherein each of the plurality of optical fibers is coupled to one of the adapters in the row of adapters.

11. A telecommunications device comprising:

a housing;

a spool disposed fully in the housing;

a fiber optic adapter disposed fully in the housing;

a fiber optic cable wrapped around the spool and configured to be paid out from the spool, wherein the spool rotates relative to the housing when the fiber optic cable is paid out;

a fiber optic connector coupled to a fiber of the fiber optic cable, the fiber optic connector and the spool rotating together relative to the housing when the fiber optic cable is paid out, the fiber optic connector being positioned at a front face of the spool;

the telecommunications device having a locked configuration where the spool is prevented from rotating relative to the housing and an unlocked configuration where the spool is allowed to rotate relative to the housing, wherein the telecommunications device is in the unlocked configuration when the fiber optic cable is paid out, and wherein the telecommunications device is configured to be set in the locked configuration while: a) a deployable length of the fiber optic cable remains coiled on the spool; and b) the fiber optic connector remains at the front face of the spool.

12. The telecommunications device of claim 11 , wherein the housing includes a main body and a movable front cover, the main body defining a front opening, the front cover configured to selectively cover and uncover the front opening, wherein the cover blocks access to the fiber optic connector when the cover is covering the front opening.

13. The telecommunications device of claim 12 , wherein the main body of the housing is adapted to be connected to a wall.

14. The telecommunications device of claim 12 , wherein the main body defines an environmentally sealed output aperture.

15. The telecommunications device of claim 12 , wherein the front cover is pivotally coupled to the main body.

16. The telecommunications device of claim 11 , wherein the cable storage spool defines apertures configured to receive a pin inserted therethrough to lock the cable storage spool to the housing.

17. The telecommunications device of claim 11 , wherein the fiber optic adapter is rotable with the cable storage spool when the cable storage spool is rotated relative to the housing, wherein the at least one fiber optic adapter is an SC-type adapter.

18. The telecommunications device of claim 11 , further comprising a cable finger disposed at an outer circumference of the cable storage spool to assist in cable retention.

19. The telecommunications device of claim 18 , wherein the cable finger is integral with the cable storage spool.

20. The telecommunications device of claim 11 , wherein the fiber optic cable includes a plurality of optical fibers.

21. A telecommunications device comprising:

a housing defining an interior accessible through an access opening;

a spool disposed within the interior of the housing, the spool being lockable so that the spool is rotatable relative to the housing when unlocked and being rotationally fixed relative to the housing when locked, the spool extending between a first axial end and a second axial end, the spool having a first flange disposed at the first axial end and a second flange disposed at the second axial end, the first flange having a first axial exterior surface that faces towards the access opening and the second flange having a second axial exterior surface that faces away from the access opening;

an adapter disposed at the first axial exterior surface of the first flange when the spool is rotated, the adapter rotating in unison with the spool when the spool is rotated relative to the housing;
