Abstract

A beverage brewing product for brewing a sweetened beverage is disclosed which produces a sweetened beverage solution that can be mixed with a diluting liquid and which comprises at least one water permeable sieve wherein beverage material and granulated sweetener are contained. The beverage material and sweetener are brewed and dissolved during steeping in hot water to produce a sweetened beverage solution. The beverage solution, if concentrated, is then mixed with a proportioned amount of diluting liquid to make a consistently sweet beverage. This beverage brewing product may be used to produce a variety of consistently sweetened beverages, including tea, coffee, lemonade, and other sweetened beverages.

Claims (33)

1. A method for brewing sweetened beverage comprising:

providing a brewing machine having a brew container, a brewing basket carried above the container, and a water dispenser for delivering water into said brewing basket;

placing at least one sieve containing beverage particles and agglomerated sugar pellets having size of 35 or larger into said brewing basket;

dispensing water into said brewing basket and allowing the brewing particles and sugar to steep in said brewing basket and produce a sweet beverage solution.

2. The method for brewing sweetened beverages set forth in claim 1 , wherein said beverage particles are selected from the group consisting of tea, coffee, lemonade, and a flavored concentrate.

3. The method for brewing sweetened beverages set forth in claim 1 , wherein said sieve includes a first mesh compartment containing said beverage particles and a second mesh compartment containing said sugar pellets.

4. The method for brewing sweetened beverages set forth in claim 3 , wherein said first compartment is placed on top of said second compartment during brewing.

5. The method of claim 1 , further including the steps of diluting the sweet beverage solution with additional water.

6. A beverage brewing product for producing a sweetened beverage comprising:

a first water permeable sieve containing beverage particles;

a second water permeable sieve containing granulated sugar;

wherein said granulated sugar includes particles having a size in the range of U.S. mesh sieve no. 35 or lower;

said permeable sieves having openings being generally smaller than the size of the beverage particles and said sugar for the retention of said particles of said sugar and said beverage particles; and

so that said particles of said sugar are dissolved during steeping in water for making said sweetened beverage.

7. The beverage brewing product for producing a sweetened beverage set forth in claim 6 , wherein said first and second water permeable sieves are formed into pouches.

8. The beverage brewing product for producing a sweetened beverage set forth in claim 7 , wherein said pouches are separate and independent from another.

9. The beverage brewing product for producing a sweetened beverage set forth in claim 7 , wherein said pouches are connected to one another.

10. A method for making sweetened beverages comprising:

providing agglomerated flavored pellets comprising a flavored beverage concentrate and sugar having size of 35 or larger agglomerated together;

placing said flavored pellets into a water permeable sieve; and dissolving said flavored pellets in water to form a sweetened, flavored beverage.

11. The method for making sweetened beverages set forth in claim 10 , wherein said water permeable sieve is selected from the group consisting of a filter, a pouch, or a mesh.

12. The method for making sweetened beverages set forth in claim further comprising the step of adding water to said sweetened, flavored beverage to form a diluted sweetened flavored beverage.

13. A beverage brewing product for producing a sweetened beverage comprising:

at least one water permeable sieve for placement a container;

beverage particles and granulated sugar contained in said at least one sieve;

wherein said granulated sugar includes particles having a size in the range of U.S. mesh sieve no. 35 or lower;

said permeable sieve having openings being generally smaller than the size of the beverage particles and said sugar for the retention of said beverage particles and said sugar; so that said particles of said sugar are dissolved during steeping in water to produce a sweetened beverage.

14. The beverage brewing product of claim 13 wherein said at least one sieve comprises a first compartment containing said beverage particles and a second compartment containing said sugar.

15. The beverage brewing product of claim 14 wherein said first compartment is disposed on top of said second compartment when placed in said container.

16. The beverage brewing product of claim 14 wherein said second compartment is disposed on top of said first compartment when placed in said container.

17. The beverage brewing product of claim 14 , further including a fold seam between said first and second compartments so one of said compartments folds onto the other during steeping.

18. The beverage brewing product of claim 13 wherein said at least one sieve is an open filter.

19. The beverage brewing product of claim 13 wherein said at least one sieve is formed from a material selected from a group consisting of polymer, cotton, cellulose, and metal.
