Display device and control method therefor
A method for controlling a display device, according to one embodiment of the present invention, comprises: displaying, on a main screen of a display device, content including at least one object; receiving an input for selecting a specific object from the at least one object displayed on the main screen; specifying the specific object by corresponding to the received selection input, expanding a specific area including the specific object; displaying a window including the content displayed on the main screen; displaying the expanded specific area on the main screen; and displaying, within the displayed window, an indicator for displaying the expended specific area, wherein the specific area changes according to a position of the specific object, and the content corresponds to a video.
1. A method for controlling a display device, the method comprising:
displaying video content including at least one object on a main screen;
entering an enlargement mode in accordance with an input requesting the enlargement mode received from a remote controller;
displaying an enlarged specific area of the video content on the main screen, wherein the enlarged specific area includes the specific object displayed at a center of the main screen;
changing the enlarged specific area to automatically maintain display of the specific object at the center of the main screen when a position of the specific object within the video content is changed;
displaying a window at a portion of the main screen, the window comprising a view of the video content and an indicator indicating a position of the displayed enlarged specific area within the view of the video content;
displaying a new object on the main screen;
determining a similarity between the displayed new object and an object stored in a memory; and
selecting the new object and displaying an enlarged specific area including the selected new object when the determined similarity is greater than or equal to a predetermined similarity threshold.
2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
receiving an input selecting another object different from the specific object from the remote controller;
releasing selection of the specific object and selecting the another object, in response to the received input; and
displaying an enlarged specific area on the main screen to include the selected another object.
3. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
adjusting a magnification ratio of the enlarged specific area based on a size of the specific object displayed on the main screen.
4. A display device, comprising:
a memory;
a display configured to display video content including at least one object on a main screen;
an interface configured to receive input from a remote controller; and
a controller configured to:
enter an enlargement mode in accordance with an input requesting the enlargement mode received from the remote controller via the interface;
cause the display to display an enlarged specific area of the video content on the main screen, wherein the enlarged specific area includes the specific object;
cause the display to display a window at a portion of the main screen, the window comprising a view of the video content and an indicator indicating a position of the displayed enlarged specific area within the view of the video content;
determine a similarity between a new object included in the displayed video content and an object stored in the memory; and
select the new object and cause the display to display an enlarged specific area including the selected new object when the determined similarity is greater than or equal to a predetermined similarity threshold.
5. The display device of claim 4 , wherein the controller is further configured to:
receive, from the remote controller via the interface, an input selecting another object different from the specific object;
release selection of the specific object and select the another object in response to the received input; and
cause the display to display an enlarged specific area on the main screen to include the selected another object.
6. The display device of claim 4 , wherein the controller is further configured to adjust a magnification ratio of the enlarged specific area based on a size of the specific object displayed on the main screen.
7. The display device of claim 4 , wherein the controller is further configured to cause the display to zoom out of the enlarged specific area displayed on the main screen and display the video content on the main screen when the specific object and the another object are no longer included in the video content.
