Abstract

A method for creating an augmented reality experience. The method includes receiving a value to associate with a stored value token, searching a database for one of products and services that are sold close to the value, matching at least one of a product and a service which is sold close to the value, and creating a record comprising a token identifier and a graphical item representing one of the product and service that is found during matching, receiving a request to initiate the augmented reality experience. The method further includes, in response to the request, preparing data comprising augmented reality information including a video file and the record. The method further includes sending the data over a computer network.

Claims (26)

1. A method comprising:

receiving, by a server, a value to associate with a stored value token;

receiving, by the server, a video;

searching, by the server, a database for at least one of a product or a service according to the value;

matching, by the server, at least one of a product or a service to the stored value token according to the value;

creating, by the server, a record comprising an identifier associated with the token and a graphical item representing the at least one of the product or service that is found during the matching;

receiving, by the server, a request to initiate an augmented reality experience, wherein receiving the request to initiate the augmented reality experience further comprises receiving the token identifier associated with a stored value token; and

in response to the request, transmitting, by the server, data comprising the video and the record over a computer network.

2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

formatting, by the server, the video as a video file for playback on a display device;

wherein transmitting data comprising the video comprises transmitting the video file.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the graphical item comprises an image that represents the at least one of a product or a service.

4. The method of claim 3 , wherein the image comprises a digital photograph of a product or a scene representing a service.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the value is a first value, wherein matching at least one of a product or a service to the stored value token according to the first value comprises matching at least one of a product or a service associated with a second value that is less than or equal to the first value to the stored value token.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the value is a first value, wherein matching at least one of a product or a service to the stored value token according to the first value comprises matching at least one of a product or a service associated with a second value that is greater than or equal to the first value to the stored value token.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the video is received from a first user and the data comprising the video and the record is transmitted to a second user that is different from the first user.

8. The method of claim 7 , further comprising:

receiving, by a user client device associated with the second user, the data comprising the video and the record from the server; and

displaying, by the user client device, the video with the graphical item.

9. The method of claim 8 , further comprising:

rendering, by the user client device, the video with the graphical item.

10. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving, by a user client device, the data comprising the video and the record from the server; and

displaying, by the user client device, the video with the graphical item.

11. The method of claim 10 , further comprising:

rendering, by the user client device, the video with the graphical item.
