Abstract

Embodiments of the present invention are directed to a method and apparatus for transmitting and receiving a control signal (for example, PDCCH signal) in an asymmetric multicarrier environment. The method for transmitting a control signal for an asymmetric multicarrier in a wireless connection system according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises: determining the size of a carrier indicator field (CIF) indicating a downlink component carrier (DL CC) by which downlink data is transmitted, on the basis of a maximum value of the number of DL CCs and of the number of uplink component carriers (UL CCs) being managed in a base station; transmitting the CIF on a 1 st DL CC to a terminal through a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH); and transmitting downlink data on a 2 nd DL CC indicated by the CIF to the terminal through a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH).

Claims (44)

1. A method for receiving ACK/NACK information in a wireless access system supporting a carrier aggregation scheme, the method performed by a user equipment (UE) and comprising:

receiving a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) including downlink control information (DCI) from a base station (BS) on a first component carrier (CC), wherein the DCI includes a carrier indicator field (CIF) indicating a second CC and scheduling information;

transmitting, to the BS, uplink data on the second CC indicated by the CIF through a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) based on the scheduling information; and

receiving ACK/NACK information for the PUSCH from the BS on the first CC, where the PDCCH has been received,

wherein the first CC and the second CC are included in a plurality of CCs which are assigned to the UE.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the ACK/NACK information is received through a physical HARQ indicator channel (PHICH).

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein a location of the CIF is fixed in a front part of a payload of the DCI and wherein the CIF is fixed in size to a number of bits needed to identify each of a plurality of component carriers in the carrier aggregation scheme.

4. The method of claim 3 , wherein the location of the CIF is fixed regardless of DCI format.

5. The method of claim 3 , wherein the size of the CIF is fixed at 3 bits.

6. A user equipment (UE) for receiving ACK/NACK information in a wireless access system supporting a carrier aggregation scheme, the UE comprising:

a receiver;

a transmitter; and

a processor functionally connected to the receiver and the transmitter,

wherein the processor controls:

the receiver to receive a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) including downlink control information (DCI) from a base station (BS) on a first component carrier (CC), wherein the DCI includes a carrier indicator field (CIF) indicating a second CC and scheduling information;

the transmitter to transmit uplink data to the BS, on the second CC indicated by the CIF through a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH), based on the scheduling information; and

the receiver to receive ACK/NACK information for the PUSCH from the BS on the first CC, where the PDCCH has been received,

wherein the first CC and the second CC are included in a plurality of CCs which are assigned to the UE.

7. The user equipment of claim 6 , wherein the ACK/NACK information is received through a physical HARQ indicator channel (PHICH).

8. The user equipment of claim 6 , wherein a location of the CIF is fixed in a front part of a payload of the DCI and wherein the CIF is fixed in size to a number of bits needed to identify each of a plurality of component carriers in the carrier aggregation scheme.

9. The user equipment of claim 8 , wherein the location of the CIF is fixed regardless of DCI format.

10. The user equipment of claim 8 , wherein the size of the CIF is fixed at 3 bits.

11. A method for transmitting ACK/NACK information in a wireless access system supporting a carrier aggregation scheme, the method performed by a base station (BS) and comprising:

transmitting a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) including downlink control information (DCI) to a user equipment (UE) on a first component carrier (CC), wherein the DCI includes a carrier indicator field (CIF) indicating a second CC and scheduling information;

receiving uplink data from the UE, on the second CC indicated by the CIF through a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH), based on the scheduling information; and

transmitting ACK/NACK information for the PUSCH to the UE on the first CC, where the PDCCH has been transmitted,

wherein the first CC and the second CC are included in a plurality of CCs which are assigned to the UE.

12. The method of claim 11 , wherein the ACK/NACK information is transmitted through a physical HARQ indicator channel (PHICH).

13. The method of claim 11 , wherein a location of the CIF is fixed in a front part of a payload of the DCI and wherein the CIF is fixed in size to a number of bits needed to identify each of a plurality of component carriers in the carrier aggregation scheme.

14. The method of claim 13 , wherein the location of the CIF is fixed regardless of DCI format.

15. The method of claim 13 , wherein the size of the CIF is fixed at 3 bits.

16. A base station (BS) for transmitting ACK/NACK information in a wireless access system supporting a carrier aggregation scheme, the BS comprising:

a receiver;

a transmitter; and

a processor functionally connected to the receiver and the transmitter,

wherein the processor controls:

the transmitter to transmit a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) including downlink control information (DCI) to a user equipment (UE) on a first component carrier (CC), wherein the DCI includes a carrier indicator field (CIF) indicating a second CC and scheduling information;

the receiver to receive uplink data from the UE, on the second CC indicated by the CIF through a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH), based on the scheduling information; and

the transmitter to transmit ACK/NACK information for the PUSCH to the UE on the first CC, where the PDCCH has been transmitted,

wherein the first CC and the second CC are included in a plurality of CCs which are assigned to the UE.

17. The base station of claim 16 , wherein the ACK/NACK information is transmitted through a physical HARQ indicator channel (PHICH).

18. The base station of claim 16 , wherein a location of the CIF is fixed in a front part of a payload of the DCI and wherein the CIF is fixed in size to a number of bits needed to identify each of a plurality of component carriers in the carrier aggregation scheme.
