Abstract

An electronic device includes a display, a display driver integrated circuit (DDI) electrically coupled with the display, a memory that stores an image, and a processor. The processor is configured to analyze at least one feature of the image and to determine at least one of a movement range, a movement interval, and a movement period of the image based on the at least one feature. The DDI is configured to display the image in the display when at least part of the processor is deactivated, and to change a display location of the image within the movement range depending on the movement interval and the movement period.

Claims (80)

1 . An electronic device comprising:

a display;

a display driver integrated circuit (DDI) electrically coupled with the display;

a memory configured to store an image; and

a processor configured to:

analyze at least one feature of the image; and

determine at least one of a movement range, a movement interval, and a movement period of the image based on the at least one feature, and

wherein the DDI is configured to:

display the image in the display when at least part of the processor is deactivated; and

change a display location of the image within the movement range depending on the movement interval and the movement period.

2 . The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the at least one feature of the image includes:

a size of the image, a middle point of the image, a center of gravity of effective pixels included in the image, an effective pixel ratio of the image, an average pixel value of the image, a maximum pixel value of the image, deviation of pixel values of the image, luminance of the display when the image is displayed, an on pixel ratio (OPR) of the image, an accumulated stress value of pixels according to movement of the image, or a spatial frequency of the image.

3 . The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the processor is further configured to:

generate a first accumulated stress map including first accumulated stress values of a first plurality of pixels when the image moves based on a first movement interval;

generate a second accumulated stress map including second accumulated stress values of a second plurality of pixels when the image moves based on a second movement interval; and

determine the movement interval of the image based on the first accumulated stress map and the second accumulated stress map.

4 . The electronic device of claim 3 , wherein the processor is further configured to:

calculate an actual accumulated stress map of the display; and

determine the movement interval of the image based on the first accumulated stress map, the second accumulated stress map, and the actual accumulated stress map of the display.

5 . The electronic device of claim 3 , wherein the processor is further configured to:

identify a first maximum accumulated stress value of the first accumulated stress map and a second maximum accumulated stress value of the second accumulated stress map;

select the first movement interval as the movement interval of the image when the first maximum accumulated stress value is less than the second maximum accumulated stress value; and

select the second movement interval as the movement interval of the image when the first maximum accumulated stress value is greater than the second maximum accumulated stress value.

6 . The electronic device of claim 3 , wherein the processor is further configured to:

calculate a first number of pixels having corresponding accumulated stress values greater than a specified value in the first accumulated stress map;

calculate a second number of pixels having corresponding accumulated stress values greater than the specified value in the second accumulated stress map;

select the first movement interval as the movement interval of the image when the first number of pixels is less than the second number of pixels; and

select the second movement interval as the movement interval of the image when the first number of pixels is greater than the second number of pixels.

7 . The electronic device of claim 3 , wherein the processor is further configured to:

calculate first gradients of the accumulated stress values included in the first accumulated stress map and second gradients of the accumulated stress values included in the second accumulated stress map; and

determine the movement interval of the image based on the first gradients and the second gradients.

8 . The electronic device of claim 3 , wherein the processor is further configured to:

generate, from the first accumulated stress map and the second accumulated stress map, accumulated color stress maps for each color channel of the first accumulated stress map and the second accumulated stress map;

determine a plurality of movement intervals for the accumulated color stress maps; and

select one of the plurality of movement intervals as the movement interval of the image.

9 . The electronic device of claim 3 , wherein the processor is further configured to:

generate, from the first accumulated stress map and the second accumulated stress map, accumulated color stress maps for each color channel of the first accumulated stress map and the second accumulated stress map;

determine a plurality of movement intervals for the accumulated color stress maps;

determine a weighted average of the plurality of movement intervals; and

select the weighted average as the movement interval of the image.

10 . The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the processor is further configured to:

analyze a spatial frequency of the image; and

determine the movement interval of the image based on a result of the spatial frequency analysis.

11 . The electronic device of claim 10 , wherein the processor is further configured to:

analyze a first spatial frequency in a first axis direction of the image and a second spatial frequency in a second axis direction of the image, wherein the second axis direction is perpendicular to the first axis direction;

determine a first axis movement interval of the image based on the spatial frequency in the first axis direction; and

determine a second axis movement interval of the image based on the spatial frequency in the second axis direction.

12 . The electronic device of claim 10 , wherein the processor is further configured to:

analyze a plurality of spatial frequencies for each color channel of the image;

determine a plurality of movement intervals for the each color channel based on the plurality of spatial frequencies;

determine a weighted average of the plurality of movement intervals; and

select the weighted average as the movement interval of the image.

13 . The electronic device of claim 10 , wherein the processor is further configured to:

analyze a plurality of spatial frequencies for each color channel of the image;

determine a plurality of movement intervals for the each color channels based on the plurality of spatial frequencies; and

select one of the plurality of movement intervals as the movement interval of the image.

14 . The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the processor is further configured to:

select a reference location in the display,

wherein the movement period of the image is relatively longer when the image is displayed relatively closer to the reference location, and

wherein the movement period of the image is relatively shorter when the image is displayed relatively farther away from the reference location.

15 . The electronic device of claim 14 , wherein the processor is further configured to:

determine the movement period of the image as a function of a distance between the reference location and the display location of the image, such that the function conforms to a normal distribution curve.

16 . The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the processor is further configured to:

determine a horizontal axis movement range of the image based on a width of the image; and

determine a vertical axis movement range of the image based on a height of the image.

17 . The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the processor is further configured to:

determine whether the at least one feature satisfies a specified standard; and

modify the image such that the at least one feature satisfies the specified standard, when the at least one feature does not satisfy the specified standard.

18 . An image displaying method of an electronic device, the method comprising:

analyzing at least one feature of the image using a processor;

determining, using the processor, at least one of a movement range, a movement interval, and a movement period of the image based on the at least one feature;

displaying the image in a display when at least part of the processor is deactivated; and

changing a display location of the image within the movement range depending on the movement interval and the movement period.

19 . The method of claim 18 , wherein the determining of the movement interval of the image includes:

generating a first accumulated stress map including first accumulated stress values of a first plurality of pixels when the image moves based on a first movement interval;

generating a second accumulated stress map including second accumulated stress values of a second plurality of pixels when the image based on a second movement interval; and

determining the movement interval of the image based on the first accumulated stress map and the second accumulated stress map.

20 . The method of claim 18 , wherein the determining of the movement interval of the image includes:

analyzing a spatial frequency of the image; and

determining the movement interval of the image based on a result of the spatial frequency analysis.
