Abstract

The one or more embodiments disclosed herein provide a method for automatically assembling multiple compounds into a single edible custom composition, in which each compound is individually customized to proportions formulated from a profile of an individual or group. The single custom mixture can contain a plurality of compounds including foods or flavors, nutritional additives, herbals, biologics, or pharmacologically active substances. Using the method and a related algorithm, the formulation of a custom mixture is suggested.

Claims (24)

1. An apparatus for dispensing a compound, the apparatus comprising:

a filler medium apparatus for providing a filler medium;

a formulation apparatus for providing a formulation;

a control system configured for controlling dispensing of the filler medium apparatus and the formulation apparatus based on information associated with an individual for taste-related and health-related information;

a mixer for mixing the dispensed filler medium and formulation, wherein the filler medium is a thixotropic semi-solid hydrocolloid that allows dissolution or suspension of compounds;

a dispenser for dispensing dosages of the mixed medium and formulation into a packet, the dispenser configured to agitate or extrude the filler medium and formulation into a dosage at which point the semi-solid hydrocolloid becomes fluid and can be dispensed.

2. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the filler medium is edible.

3. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the filler medium is a nutritional filler.

4. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the filler medium is a hydrocolloid.

5. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the filler medium is selected from polymeric glycosaminoglycans, polysaccharides, or combinations thereof.

6. The apparatus of claim 5 , wherein the polysaccharide is selected from agar, carrageenan, alginate, natural gums, carboxymethyl cellulose, pectin, dextran, dextran derivatives, pullulan, xanthan, xyloglucan, starch, hyaluronic acid, or combinations thereof.

7. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the formulation is a supplement.

8. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the formulation is a pharmaceutical product.

9. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the health-related information includes one of medical history, height, weight, age, and sex of the individual.

10. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein health-related information further includes one of family history, and allergy profile data of the individual.

11. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein taste-related information includes taste, texture, and size of dosage.

12. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the health-related information is provided by a computing device.

13. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the health-related information is provided by a healthcare service professional.

14. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the taste-related information is provided by a computing device.

15. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the formulation includes multiple components of compounds.

16. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the dosages are configured as daily dosages.

17. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the dispenser is configured to dispense the dosage in a uniformly distributed manner.

18. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the dispenser uses at least one of controlled actuation, pressure, compression, and displacement to determine a desired mass or volume of the formulation within a dosage.

19. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the mixer uses at least one of dispersion, whisking, homogenization, resolubilization using heat, adjusting pH, addition of cations to mix the filler medium and formulation.
