Abstract

To issue an appropriate warning based on detection of an object even under the circumstances where it is difficult to determine the outside environment of a movable body, a warning device according to the present invention includes an image acquisition unit configured to acquire a plurality of images respectively based on a plurality of filter characteristics, a detection unit configured to perform detection of a specified object on each of the plurality of acquired images, and a warning unit configured to issue a specific warning when the object is detected from at least any one of the plurality of acquired images, wherein the warning unit issues a higher level of warning when the object is detected from all of the plurality of images than when the object is detected from some of the plurality of images.

Claims (33)

1. A warning device comprising:

at least one memory storing instructions, and

a processor configured to execute the instructions to:

acquire a plurality of images respectively based on a plurality of filter characteristics;

perform detection of a specified object on each of the plurality of acquired images;

issue a first warning when the specified object is detected in at least any one of the plurality of acquired images; and

issue a second warning having a higher warning level than the first warning when the specified object is detected in all of the plurality of images.

2. The warning device according to claim 1 , wherein when the object is detected from two or more of the plurality of images, the processor is further configured to execute the instructions to issue the first warning by using the image in which the object is detected with higher accuracy.

3. The warning device according to claim 2 , wherein the processor is further configured to execute the instructions to:

calculate an index value indicating a level of detection of the object on each of the plurality of acquired images, and

determine an image in which the index value exceeds a specified value as the image in which the object is detected, and

when the object is detected from two or more of the plurality of images, issues the first warning by using the image in which the index value is highest.

4. The warning device according to claim 1 , wherein the processor is further configured to execute the instructions to:

select one of a first mode where at least one imaging device takes an image by one filter characteristics and a second mode where the at least one imaging device takes an image by a plurality of filter characteristics in accordance with specified conditions, and sets the at least one imaging device to the selected mode.

5. The warning device according to claim 4 , wherein the processor is further configured to execute the instructions to:

acquire current position information of the warning device, wherein

when the acquired position information is within a range of a specific area on map information, set the at least one imaging device to the second mode to.

6. The warning device according to claim 1 , wherein when the object is detected by the detection unit, the processor is further configured to execute the instructions to issue the second warning by displaying the detected image with a position of the object highlighted on a screen.

7. The warning device according to claim 1 , wherein

the warning device further comprises a plurality of imaging devices respectively corresponding to the plurality of filter characteristics, and

wherein each of the plurality of imaging devices takes an image by corresponding filter characteristics.

8. The warning device according to claim 1 , further comprising one imaging device that takes an image by switching the plurality of filter characteristics on a regular basis.

9. The warning device according to claim 1 , wherein the plurality of filter characteristics comprises a characteristic that block lights in the near-infrared spectrum and transmits light in the visible spectrum.

10. A warning method comprising:

acquiring a plurality of images respectively based on a plurality of filter characteristics;

performing detection of a specified object on each of the plurality of acquired images;

issuing a first warning when the object is detected in at least any one of the plurality of acquired images; and

a second warning having a higher warning level than the first warning is issued when the object is detected in all of the plurality of images.

11. A non-transitory computer readable medium storing a warning program for causing a computer to execute the program to:

acquire a plurality of images respectively based on a plurality of filter characteristics;

detect a specified object on each of the plurality of acquired images;

issue a first warning when the object is detected in at least any one of the plurality of acquired images; and

a second warning having a higher warning level than the first warning is issued when the object is detected in all of the plurality of images.
