Abstract

Systems and methods are used for providing mapping, data management and analysis. Data for at least two different data sets can be accepted. A vector density analysis of each data set can be performed using: temporal analysis, intersection analysis, spatial concentration analysis, or spatial correlation analysis. Each loaded data set can rastorized. Each rasterized data set can be converted to a certain scale. A convolution operation can be performed on each converted data set. Convolution results can be applied to a color ramp. Each map can be created based on the color ramp and the convolution results. A combination map illustrating where the at least two different data sets intersects each other can be created. Proximity and magnitude of the at least two different data sets can be illustrated.

Claims (56)

1. A method for providing mapping, data management and analysis, comprising:

accepting data for at least two different data sets, the data comprising user-generated vector data comprising application data and geo-spatial data, the application data comprising desktop application data and Web-enabled application data;

performing a vector density analysis of each data set using: temporal analysis, intersection analysis, spatial concentration analysis, or spatial correlation analysis;

rating and tagging each vector density analyzed data set in order to identify the most relevant and accurate data;

initiating, using user criteria, creation of a map for each rated and tagged data set with a desired Gaussian aggregation and desired color map parameters;

loading each rated and tagged data set to be utilized in each map;

rasterizing each loaded data set by converting images described in terms of mathematical elements to equivalent images composed of pixel patterns that are stored and manipulated as sets of bits;

converting each rasterized data set to a certain scale;

performing a convolution operation on each converted data set;

applying convolution results to a color ramp; and

creating each map based on the color ramp and the convolution results;

creating a combination map illustrating where the at least two different data sets intersects each other and illustrating proximity and magnitude of the at least two different data sets.

2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising analyzing the data using:

addition/integration;

subtraction;

multiplication; or

a linear correlation; or

any combination thereof.

3. The method of claim 1 , further comprising delivering the map through a Web browser.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the map is dynamically re-created as users zoom in and out or as temporal data feeds change.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the data comprises user-generated vector data.

6. The method of claim 5 , further comprising:

receiving a request from the user to pan the map; and

providing an updated map to the user including at least some of the image from the buffer.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein a user can zoom into the image to gain further detail.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein a user can zoom into the image to obtain an expanded view of the original raster surface.

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein a user can zoom into the image to obtain additional detail regarding variation in attribute valuation.

10. A system for providing mapping, data management and analysis,

comprising:

a processor configured for:

accepting data for at least two different sets of data, the data comprising user-generated vector data comprising application data and geo-spatial data, the application data comprising desktop application data and Web-enabled application data;

performing a vector density analysis of each of the at least two different data sets using: temporal analysis, intersection analysis, spatial concentration analysis, or spatial correlation analysis;

rating and tagging each vector density analyzed data set in order to identify the most relevant and accurate data;

initiating, using user criteria, creation of a map for each rated and tagged data set with a desired Gaussian aggregation and desired color map parameters;

loading each rated and tagged data set to be utilized in each map;

rasterizing each loaded data set by converting images described in terms of mathematical elements to equivalent images composed of pixel patterns that are stored and manipulated as sets of bits;

converting each rasterized data set to a certain scale;

performing a convolution operation on each converted data set;

applying convolution results to a color ramp; and

creating each map based on the color ramp and the convolution results;

creating a combination map illustrating where data from the at least two different data sets intersects each other and illustrating proximity and magnitude of the at least two data sets.

11. The system of claim 10 , wherein the processor is further configured to analyze the data using:

addition/integration;

subtraction;

multiplication; or

a linear correlation; or

any combination thereof.

12. The system of claim 10 , further comprising delivering the map through a Web browser.

13. The system of claim 10 , wherein the map is dynamically re-created as users zoom in and out or as temporal data feeds change.

14. The system of claim 10 , wherein the data comprises user-generated vector data.

15. The system of claim 13 , wherein the processor is further configured for:

receiving a request from the user to pan the map; and

providing an updated map to the user including at least some of the image from the buffer.

16. The system of claim 10 , wherein a user can zoom into the image to gain further detail.

17. The system of claim 10 , wherein a user can zoom into the image to obtain an expanded view of the original raster surface.

18. The system of claim 10 , wherein a user can zoom into the image to obtain additional detail regarding variation in attribute valuation.
