Alternative use for hydrogel intrasaccular occlusion device with telescoping central support element
The present disclosure relates to the field of endovascular treatment. More particularly, the present invention uses a modified hydrogel intrasaccular occlusion device designed to implement an endovascular treatment to ameliorating or eliminating aneurysm recurrence, which hydrogel may optionally be impregnated with pharmaceutical compounds. The present invention also teaches the use of thin hydrogel coatings to ameliorate endovascular treatment related difficulties.
1. An endovascular treatment mesh device for closing outpouchings by affixing at least one amorphous hydrogel layer expandable in vivo to any or all surfaces of an expandable body comprising of at least one material adapted to close said outpouching in the body, and
the treatment mesh further including a reinforcing extension element, wherein said reinforcing extension element minimizes risk of collapse, and
wherein said reinforcing extension element is a telescoping center-support bar having at least two telescoping elements disposed within said treatment mesh, and
wherein said hydrogel affixed to the surface of said at least two telescoping elements.
2. The treatment mesh device of claim 1 , wherein said treatment mesh device comprises a thin coating of said amorphous hydrogel on any surface exposed to blood or a lumen wall.
3. The treatment mesh device of claim 2 , wherein said amorphous hydrogel is impregnated with pharmaceutical compounds, wherein said compounds are formulated for controlled release.
4. The treatment mesh device of claim 1 , wherein said expandable body is self-expanding.
