Abstract

This invention relates to nonwoven textile with barrier properties containing a first barrier layer A with a theoretical cover coefficient TCC A, and consisting of fibres having a median fibre diameter in the layer of dAm, and a second barrier layer B with a theoretical cover coefficient TCC B, and consisting of fibres having a median fibre diameter in the layer of dBm; while the first barrier layer A and the second barrier layer B are together in direct contact. The median diameters of fibres in the first and second layer have a theoretical fibre diameter coefficient x=(dBm−dAm)/dAm, where the theoretical fibre diameter coefficient x is less than or equal to 1 and where the theoretical fibre diameter coefficient x is greater than or equal to 0.25, and the sum of the theoretical cover coefficient TCC A and TCC B is greater than or equal to 50%.

Claims (22)

1 . Nonwoven textile with barrier properties containing

a. a first barrier layer A with a theoretical cover coefficient TCC A, and consisting of fibres having a median fibre diameter dAm within the layer; and

b. a second barrier layer B with a theoretical cover coefficient TCC B, and consisting of fibres having a median fibre diameter dBm in the layer;

characterised in that:

i. the first barrier layer A and the second barrier layer B are in direct contact with each other;

ii. the median fiber diameters within the first and the second layer have a theoretical fibre diameter coefficient x=(dBm−dAm)/dAm, where the theoretical fibre diameter coefficient x is less than or equal to 1 and where the theoretical fibre diameter coefficient x is greater than or equal to 0.25; and

iii. the sum of the theoretical cover coefficient TCC A and TCC B is greater than or equal to 50%.

2 . Nonwoven textile according to claim 1 characterised in that the theoretical fibre diameter coefficient x is greater than or equal to 0.3.

3 . Nonwoven textile according to claim 1 characterised in that the theoretical cover coefficient TCC of each of the individual layers A and/or B is at least 20%.

4 . Nonwoven textile according to claim 1 characterised in that the theoretical cover coefficient TCC of layer A and/or layer B is less than or equal to 800%.

5 . Nonwoven textile according to claim 1 characterised in that the majority of fibres in layer A and/or in both layers A and B are meltblown-type fibres.

6 . Nonwoven textile according to claim 1 characterised in that the layer A and/or both layers A and B contain at least 10% of fibres with a fibre diameter less than 1 micron.

7 . Nonwoven textile according to claim 1 characterised in that the layer A and/or both layers A and B contain fibres with a fibre diameter greater than 200 nm.

8 . Nonwoven textile according to claim 1 characterised in that the majority of fibres in the layer B and/or in both layers A and B are spunbond-type fibres.

9 . Nonwoven textile according to claim 1 characterised in that it contains one or more layers D, whilst at least one of the D layers is in direct contact with the layer A or with the layer B.

10 . Nonwoven textile according to claim 1 characterised in that the main component of fibres in the layer A and/or the layer B contains a compound belonging to a group of polyolefins or polyesters or biopolymers or polyamides or copolymers of the aforementioned groups.

11 . Nonwoven textile according to claim 10 characterised in that the main component of fibres in the layer A and/or the layer B contains a compound from a group containing polypropylene, polyethylene, PET, PBT, PTT, PLA or copolymers of the aforementioned compounds.

12 . Nonwoven textile according to claim 1 characterised in that the main component of fibres in the layer A and/or B contains a blend of compounds.
