2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the neridronic acid in an acid or a salt form is parenterally administered in at least two divided doses of about 10 mg to about 250 mg.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the neridronic acid in an acid or a salt form is parenterally administered in at least two divided doses of about 5 mg to about 200 mg.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the human being has severe pain in a limb.

5. The method of claim 4 , wherein the severe pain in the limb is accompanied by allodynia.

6. The method of claim 4 , wherein the severe pain in the limb is accompanied by hyperalgesia.

7. The method of claim 4 , wherein the severe pain in the limb is accompanied by edema.

8. The method of claim 4 , wherein the severe pain in the limb is accompanied by changes in skin blood flow.

9. The method of claim 4 , wherein the severe pain in the limb is accompanied by abnormal sudomotor activity.

10. The method of claim 1 , wherein the human being is suffering from complex regional pain syndrome type I.

11. The method of claim 1 , wherein the human being is suffering from complex regional pain syndrome type II.

12. A method of treating complex regional pain syndrome comprising parenterally administering, in a single dose or in divided doses, about 200 mg to about 500 mg of neridronic acid in an acid or a salt form, to a human being suffering from complex regional pain syndrome.

13. The method of claim 12 , wherein the neridronic acid in an acid or a salt form is parenterally administered in at least two divided doses.

14. The method of claim 12 , wherein the patient has severe pain in a limb.

15. The method of claim 14 , wherein the severe pain in the limb is accompanied by allodynia.

16. The method of claim 14 , wherein the severe pain in the limb is accompanied by hyperalgesia.

17. The method of claim 14 , wherein the severe pain in the limb is accompanied by edema.

18. The method of claim 14 , wherein the severe pain in the limb is accompanied by changes in skin blood flow.

19. The method of claim 14 , wherein the severe pain in the limb is accompanied by abnormal sudomotor activity.

20. The method of claim 12 , wherein the human being is suffering from complex regional pain syndrome type I.

21. The method of claim 12 , wherein the human being is suffering from complex regional pain syndrome type II.

22. A method of treating complex regional pain syndrome comprising parenterally administering, in a single dose or in divided doses, about 100 mg to about 500 mg of neridronic acid in an acid or a salt form, to a human being suffering from complex regional pain syndrome.

23. The method of claim 22 , wherein the neridronic acid in an acid or a salt form is parenterally administered in at least two divided doses.

24. The method of claim 22 , wherein the human being has severe pain in a limb.

25. The method of claim 24 , wherein the severe pain in the limb is accompanied by allodynia.

26. The method of claim 24 , wherein the severe pain in the limb is accompanied by hyperalgesia.

27. The method of claim 24 , wherein the severe pain in the limb is accompanied by edema.

28. The method of claim 24 , wherein the severe pain in the limb is accompanied by changes in skin blood flow.

29. The method of claim 24 , wherein the severe pain in the limb is accompanied by abnormal sudomotor activity.
