Abstract

Methods of fabricating a cartridge are provided. In some implementations, a method comprises forming a storage compartment having a first end and a second end opposite the first end, attaching a mouthpiece to the storage compartment at the second end, and attaching a heater at the first end. The storage compartment is configured to hold a vaporizable material. The heater comprises a heating element, a first plate positioned proximate to a first side of the storage compartment, and a second plate positioned proximate to a second side of the storage compartment. The first plate is coupled to the heating element and attached proximate to the first end, and the second plate is coupled to the heating element and attached proximate to the first end. The first plate and the second plate define a volume therebetween with at least a portion of the heating element disposed within the volume.

5. The method of claim 4 , wherein the first contact surface and the second contact surface are configured to couple with a pair of contacts in a vaporizer device to complete an electrical circuit to provide power to the heating element, the electrical circuit comprising a power source within the vaporizer device and the heating element.

6. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

positioning a plastic enclosure to cover at least the first plate and the second plate, at least a portion of the first plate forming at least a portion of a first wall of a heater chamber within which the heating element is disposed, at least a portion of the second plate forming at least a portion of a second wall of the heater chamber, the first wall opposite the second wall.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the cartridge further comprises the vaporizable material within the storage compartment, and wherein the vaporizable material comprises a nicotine formulation.

8. A method of manufacturing a cartridge, the method comprising:

forming a storage compartment within a cartridge body;

coupling a first plate proximate to a first side of the cartridge body;

coupling a second plate proximate to a second side of the cartridge body, the first side opposite the second side, the coupled first plate and the coupled second plate defining a volume therebetween;

positioning at least a portion of a heating element within the volume, the heating element configured to heat a vaporizable material from the storage compartment to generate an aerosol for delivery to a user;

coupling the first plate to the heating element;

positioning a first flexible tab having a first contact surface at a third side of the cartridge body, the first flexible tab coupled to the first plate, the third side substantially perpendicular to the first side of the cartridge body and substantially perpendicular to the second side of the cartridge body;

coupling the second plate to the heating element; and

positioning a second flexible tab having a second contact surface at the third side, the second flexible tab coupled to the second plate.

9. The method of claim 8 , wherein the first contact surface and the second contact surface are configured to couple with a pair of contacts in a vaporizer device to complete an electrical circuit to provide power to the heating element, the electrical circuit comprising a battery within the vaporizer device and the heating element.

10. The method of claim 8 , further comprising:

providing a wicking material; and

positioning the heating element to contact the wicking material, the wicking material configured to contact the vaporizable material and draw the vaporizable material towards the heating element, at least a portion of the wicking material disposed within the volume.

11. The method of claim 8 , further comprising:

providing a heater chamber, wherein the first plate and the second plate are coupled at opposite sides of the heater chamber.

12. The method of claim 11 , wherein the first plate and the first flexible tab define a first formed shape, the first flexible tab extending out of the heater chamber.

13. The method of claim 12 , wherein the first contact surface is disposed to couple with a device contact of a vaporizer device body, the vaporizer device body comprising a battery, the coupling of the first contact surface and the device contact completing an electrical circuit comprising the heating element, the first formed shape, the device contact, and the battery.

14. The method of claim 11 , further comprising:

positioning a plastic enclosure to cover the first plate and the second plate, at least a portion of the first plate forming at least a portion of a first wall of the heater chamber, at least a portion of the second plate forming at least a portion of a second wall of the heater chamber, the first wall opposite the second wall.

15. The method of claim 11 , wherein the heater chamber comprises the volume, and wherein the heating element is configured to generate the aerosol within the volume.

16. The method of claim 8 , wherein the cartridge body has a proximal end and a distal end opposite the proximal end, and wherein the method further comprises:

coupling a mouthpiece at the proximal end, the first flexible tab and the second flexible tab disposed proximate to the distal end.
