COMPOUNDS AND METHODS FOR TREATING ABERRANT ADRENOCORTICAL CELL DISORDERS
Methods and compositions are provided for treatment of disorders associated with aberrant adrenal cortex cell behavior, including (but not limited to) treatment of adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC), Cushing's syndrome and/or pituitary ACTH excess (Cushing's Disease). Such methods involve administration of an effective amount N-(2,6-bis(1-methylethyl)phenyl)-N′-((1-(4-(dimethylamino)phenyl)cyclopentyl)-methyl)urea hydrochloride to the patient.

29 . A method for treating a disorder associated with aberrant adrenal cortex behavior, comprising administering to a patient in need thereof a compound that induces a state of quiescence in adrenal cortex cells.
30 . The method of claim 29 , wherein the compound does not kill adrenal stem cells.
31 . The method of claim 29 , wherein the compound selectively ablates adrenal cortex cells.
32 . The method of claim 29 , wherein the compound selectively inhibits the enzymatic activity of cytochrome C oxidase (Complex IV) in adrenal cortex cells.
33 . The method of claim 29 , wherein the compound selectively inhibits respiration in adrenal cortex cells.
34 . The method of claim 29 , wherein the compound modulates production in and from adrenal cortex cells.
