Abstract

A method of determining a touch event in a touch detection system includes: receiving at least one sensing signal corresponding to at least one driving signal configured to drive a touch panel; determining whether a touch event occurs by performing an initial digital operation on the at least one sensing signal; performing an entire determination on the at least one sensing signal after at least one of one or more predetermined conditions is determined to be satisfied, wherein one of the one or more predetermined conditions is that the touch event is determined to occur; and not performing the entire determination on the at least one sensing signal after each of the one or more predetermined conditions is determined to be unsatisfied.

Claims (168)

1. A method of determining a touch event in a touch detection system, comprising:

receiving at least one sensing signal corresponding to at least one driving signal configured to drive a touch panel;

determining whether a touch event occurs by performing an initial digital operation on the at least one sensing signal;

performing an entire determination on the at least one sensing signal after at least one of one or more predetermined conditions is determined to be satisfied, wherein one of the one or more predetermined conditions is that the touch event is determined to occur; and

not performing the entire determination on the at least one sensing signal after each of the one or more predetermined conditions is determined to be unsatisfied.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein another one of the one or more predetermined conditions is that the at least one sensing signal is interfered with by a noise signal.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the entire determination comprises a series of digital operations.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the entire determination comprises a maximum likelihood operation or a signal processing scheme using a filter.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the step of performing the initial digital operation on the at least one sensing signal comprises:

performing a non-uniform sampling on the at least one sensing signal.

6. The method of claim 5 , wherein the step of performing the non-uniform sampling on the at least one sensing signal comprises:

deleting at least one fragment of the at least one sensing signal before sampling the at least one sensing signal, wherein the at least one fragment is interfered with by a regular noise.

7. The method of claim 6 , wherein an operation of the non-uniform sampling is described by a general form equation as follows:

wherein R(t) denotes the sensing signal and is divided into a signal part A×g(t) and a noise part noise(t), g(t) is a basic signal, and sequence(t) denotes a sequence of time frames remained after the at least one fragment of the sensing signal is deleted.

8. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

scheduling to reserve a plurality of digital operation periods for performing the initial digital operation and a plurality of entire determination periods for performing the entire determination alternately, wherein each of the plurality of digital operation periods is followed by one of the plurality of entire determination periods.

9. The method of claim 1 , wherein the entire determination provides a higher resolution than the initial digital operation.

10. The method of claim 1 , wherein the entire determination provides more touch information than the initial digital operation.

11. The method of claim 1 , wherein the entire determination provides at least one of following touch information: a location of the touch event and touch strength.

12. The method of claim 2 , further comprising:

determining whether a plurality of determination results of the at least one sensing signal are interfered with by the noise signal; and

selecting to use at least one of the plurality of determination results which is not determined to be interfered with by the noise signal to determine touch information related to the touch event.

13. The method of claim 1 , wherein the step of determining whether a touch event occurs by performing an initial digital operation comprises:

comparing a signal value of the at least one sensing signal with a threshold value to generate a comparison result; and

determining whether a touch event occurs according to the comparison result.

14. A method of determining a touch event in a touch detection system, comprising:

receiving at least one sensing signal corresponding to at least one driving signal configured to drive a touch panel;

determining whether a touch event occurs by performing a first operation on the at least one sensing signal;

performing a second operation on the at least one sensing signal after at least one of one or more predetermined conditions is determined to be satisfied, wherein one of the one or more predetermined conditions is that the touch event occurs, wherein the second operation provides more touch information than the first operation; and

not performing the second operation on the at least one sensing signal after each of the one or more predetermined conditions is determined to be unsatisfied.

15. The method of claim 14 , wherein another one of the one or more predetermined conditions is that the at least one sensing signal is interfered with by a noise signal.

16. The method of claim 14 , wherein the second operation comprises a series of digital operations.

17. The method of claim 14 , further comprising:

scheduling to reserve a plurality of first operation periods for performing the first operation and a plurality of second operation periods for performing the second operation alternately, wherein each of the plurality of first operation periods is followed by one of the plurality of second operation periods.

18. The method of claim 14 , wherein the second operation provides a higher resolution than the first operation.

19. The method of claim 14 , wherein the second operation provides at least one of following touch information: a location of the touch event and touch strength.

20. The method of claim 14 , wherein the step of determining whether a touch event occurs by performing a first operation comprises:

comparing a signal value of the at least one sensing signal with a threshold value to generate a comparison result; and

determining whether a touch event occurs according to the comparison result.

21. A method of determining a touch event in a touch detection system, comprising:

receiving at least one sensing signal corresponding to at least one driving signal configured to drive a touch panel;

performing a first operation on the at least one sensing signal to determine whether the at least one sensing signal satisfies a first predetermined condition;

performing a second operation on the at least one sensing signal after at least one of one or more second predetermined conditions is determined to be satisfied, wherein one of the one or more second predetermined conditions is that the first predetermined condition is determined to be satisfied, wherein the second operation provides more touch information than the first operation; and

not performing the second operation on the at least one sensing signal after each of the one or more second predetermined conditions is determined to be unsatisfied.

22. The method of claim 21 , wherein the first predetermined condition comprises a condition that a touch event occurs.

23. The method of claim 22 , wherein another one of the one or more predetermined conditions is that the at least one sensing signal is interfered with by a noise signal.

24. The method of claim 21 , wherein the second operation provides at least one of following touch information: a location of the touch event and touch strength.

25. The method of claim 22 , wherein the step of performing a first operation on the at least one sensing signal to determine whether the at least one sensing signal satisfies that a touch event occurs comprises:

comparing a signal value of the at least one sensing signal with a threshold value to generate a comparison result; and

determining whether a touch event occurs according to the comparison result.

26. A method of determining a touch event in a touch detection system, comprising:

receiving at least one sensing signal corresponding to at least one driving signal configured to drive a touch panel;

performing a first operation on the at least one sensing signal to determine whether the at least one sensing signal satisfies a first predetermined condition;

performing a second operation on the at least one sensing signal after a second predetermined condition is determined to be satisfied, wherein the second predetermined condition comprises a condition that the first predetermined condition is determined to be satisfied, wherein the second operation provides more touch information than the first operation; and

not performing the second operation on the at least one sensing signal after a third predetermined condition is determined to be satisfied, wherein the third predetermined condition comprises a condition that the first predetermined condition is determined to be unsatisfied.

27. The method of claim 26 , wherein the first predetermined condition comprises a condition that a touch event occurs.

28. The method of claim 27 , wherein the second predetermined condition comprises another condition that the at least one sensing signal is interfered with by a noise signal.

29. The method of claim 26 , wherein the second operation provides at least one of following touch information: a location of the touch event and touch strength.

30. The method of claim 27 , wherein the step of performing a first operation on the at least one sensing signal to determine whether the at least one sensing signal satisfies that a touch event occurs comprises:

comparing a signal value of the at least one sensing signal with a threshold value to generate a comparison result;

and determining whether a touch event occurs according to the comparison result.
