Abstract

A method in a wireless communication device including receiving ( 410 ) a composite control channel including at least two control channel elements, each control channel element only contains radio resource assignment information, for example, a codeword, exclusively addressed to a single wireless communication entity. The device combines ( 420 ) at least two of the control channel elements, and decodes ( 430 ) the combined control channel elements.

Claims (8)

1. A method in a wireless infrastructure entity, the method comprising:

determining a channel condition of a wireless communication entity connected to the wireless infrastructure entity; and

transmitting a composite control channel from the wireless infrastructure entity, the composite control channel including (i) a single control channel element based on the channel condition of the wireless communication entity and (ii) a first portion allocated for assigning radio resources and a second portion allocated for data transfer.

The method of claim 1 , wherein the first portion includes additional control channel elements that are allocated for assigning the radio resources, further comprising providing radio resource assignment information on the additional control channel elements of the composite control channel before transmitting the composite control channel.

3. A method in a wireless infrastructure entity, the method comprising:

determining a channel condition of a wireless communication entity connected to the wireless infrastructure entity; and

transmitting a composite control channel from the wireless infrastructure entity, the composite control channel including (i) at least two control channel elements based on the channel condition of the wireless communication entity and (ii) a first portion allocated for assigning radio resources and a second portion allocated for data transfer.

The method of claim 3 , wherein the first portion includes additional control channel elements that are allocated for assigning the radio resources, further comprising providing radio resource assignment information on the additional control channel elements of the composite control channel before transmitting the composite control channel.
