Abstract

An electronic cigarette includes a shell and a mouthpiece. The external wall of the shell has an air inlet. An atomizer and a liquid-supply are in contact with each other. The air inlet, atomizer, and an aerosol passage are interconnected.

Claims (37)

1. A vaporizing device, comprising:

a battery assembly containing a battery in a battery assembly housing and an LED in the battery assembly housing electrically connected to an electronic circuit board in the battery assembly housing;

a liquid supply assembly including an outlet and a liquid container for holding liquid;

an aerosol passage leading from an air inlet to the outlet at a second end of the liquid supply assembly;

a heating wire oriented and extending perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the device, the heating wire in a cavity; and

a porous component which absorbs liquid from the liquid container for moving liquid in the liquid container to the heating wire.

2. The device of claim 1 further including a manually operated switch electrically connected to the electronic circuit board in the battery assembly housing.

3. The device of claim 1 further including an air flow sensor electrically connected to the electronic circuit board in the battery assembly housing.

4. The device of claim 1 further including a gas vent in the aerosol passage leading into the outlet, co-axial with the longitudinal axis of the device.

5. The device of claim 1 with the heating wire in an air flow path leading from the air inlet to the aerosol passage.

6. The device of claim 5 with the air flow path extending through an opening in a vapor-liquid separator.

7. The device of claim 1 further including a retaining element for retaining the liquid supply assembly to the battery assembly housing.

8. The device of claim 1 further comprising a cavity wall around the heating wire.

9. The device of claim 1 with the aerosol passage on one side of the liquid container.

10. The device of claim 1 with the outlet in a mouthpiece of the liquid supply assembly.

11. A vaporizing device, comprising:

a battery assembly containing a battery in a battery assembly housing and an LED in the battery assembly housing electrically connected to an electronic circuit board in the battery assembly housing;

an air flow sensor electrically connected to the electronic circuit board in the battery assembly housing;

a liquid supply assembly having an outlet and a liquid container for holding liquid;

an aerosol passage leading from an air inlet to the outlet at a second end of the liquid supply assembly;

a heating wire oriented perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the device, with the heating wire in an air flow path way leading from the air inlet to the aerosol passage; and

a porous material in contact with liquid in the liquid container for moving liquid in the liquid container to the heating wire.

12. The device of claim 11 with the air flow path way extending through an opening in a vapor-liquid separator.

13. The device of claim 11 further comprising an atomization cavity wall around the heating wire.

14. The device of claim 11 further including a retaining element for retaining the liquid container in the device.

15. The device of claim 11 with the aerosol passage on one side of the liquid container.

16. The device of claim 11 with the liquid supply assembly having a mouthpiece, and the outlet in the mouthpiece.

17. A vaporizing device, comprising:

a battery assembly containing a battery in a battery assembly housing and an LED in the battery assembly housing electrically connected to an electronic circuit board in the battery assembly housing;

a manually operated switch electrically connected to the electronic circuit board in the battery assembly housing;

a liquid supply assembly having an outlet and a liquid container for holding liquid;

an aerosol passage from an air inlet to the outlet, at a second end of the liquid supply assembly;

a heating wire oriented perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the device, the heating wire in an air flow path way leading from the air inlet to the aerosol passage; and

a porous material for moving liquid in the liquid container to the heating wire.

18. The device of claim 17 further including a retaining element for retaining the liquid container in the device.

19. The device of claim 18 with the aerosol passage on one side of the liquid container.

20. The device of claim 18 with the outlet in a mouthpiece of the liquid supply assembly.
