Abstract

The present invention generally relates to cosmetic compositions comprising serum derived from cultured keratinocyte and fibroblast cells. The invention also relates to methods of producing serum for use in the cosmetic compositions through novel cell culture techniques.

Claims (27)

1 . A cosmetic composition comprising:

a keratinocyte fibroblast serum (KFS), the KFS being a combination of compounds secreted by keratinocytes and fibroblast in-culture in sterile media without growth factor, the combination of compounds comprising:

tenascin; and

a protease formulation.

21 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the protease formulation comprises serine protease.

22 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the protease formulation comprises aminopeptidase N.

23 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the KFS further comprises an extracellular matrix formulation.

24 . The composition of claim 23 , wherein the extracellular matrix formulation comprises laminin.

25 . The composition of claim 24 , wherein the laminin comprises laminin subunit beta-3.

26 . The composition of claim 24 , wherein the laminin comprises laminin subunit gamma-1.

27 . The composition of claim 24 , wherein the laminin comprises laminin subunit alpha-4.

28 . The composition of claim 24 , wherein the laminin comprises laminin subunit beta-1.

29 . The composition of claim 24 , wherein the laminin comprises laminin-431.

30 . The composition of claim 23 , wherein the extracellular matrix formulation comprises fibronectin isoform 3.

31 . The composition of claim 23 , wherein the extracellular matrix formulation comprises transforming growth factor-beta-induced protein ig-h3.

32 . The composition of claim 1 , further comprising an emulsifier.

33 . The composition of claim 31 , wherein the emulsifier comprises a fatty alcohol.

34 . The composition of claim 1 , further comprising an emollient.

35 . The composition of claim 1 , further comprising a humectant.

36 . The composition of claim 1 , further comprising an antioxidant.

37 . The composition of claim 1 , further comprising a preservative.

38 . The composition of claim 1 , further comprising lipids.

39 . The composition of claim 1 , further comprising:

water;

vitamin A; and

vitamin C.
