Abstract

A display unit includes a plurality of light emitting devices, each of the light emitting devices including a function layer including at least an organic layer is sandwiched between a first electrode and a second electrode, and which have a resonator structure for resonating light by using a space between the first electrode and the second electrode as a resonant section and extracting the light through the second electrode are arranged on a substrate, wherein in the respective light emitting devices, the organic layer is made of an identical layer, and a distance of the resonant section between the first electrode and the second electrode is set to a plurality of different values.

Claims (26)

1. A display unit comprising:

a substrate;

a plurality of thin film transistors arranged on the substrate;

an insulating layer disposed over the plurality of thin film transistors;

a plurality of organic light emitting devices including a first light emitting device, a second light emitting device and a third light emitting device arranged on the plurality of thin film transistors, and the plurality of organic light emitting devices disposed on the insulating layer, and

a color filter comprising a red region corresponding to the first light emitting device, a green region corresponding to the second light emitting device and a blue region corresponding to the third light emitting device, and the color filter disposed between the substrate and the insulating layer,

wherein each of the first, second and third organic light emitting devices comprises a first electrode, a second electrode facing to the substrate and a light emitting layer disposed between the first electrode and the second electrode, and configured to emit a light reflected by the first electrode and transmitted through the second electrode;

wherein the light emitting layers of the first, second, and third light emitting devices are made of an identical light emitting layer extending throughout the plurality of organic light emitting devices,

wherein in the first light emitting device, the second electrode is arranged at a first distance from the red region, in the second light emission device, the second electrode is arranged at a second distance from the green region, in the third light emission device, the second electrode is arranged at a third distance from the blue region,

wherein the first distance, the second distance and the third distance are different,

wherein a distance between the first electrode and the second electrode is same in the first, second and third light emitting devices, and

wherein the light is extracted from the substrate.

2. The display unit according to claim 1 ,

wherein the first distance is larger than the second distance, and

wherein the second distance is larger than the third distance.

3. The display unit according to claim 1 ,

wherein the first light emitting element is configured to emit red light,

wherein the second light emission element is configured to emit green light, and

wherein the third light emission element is configured to emit blue light.

4. The display unit according to claim 1 , wherein the first metal layer is a mirror layer, and wherein the second metal layer is a half mirror layer.

5. The display unit according to claim 1 , wherein the first electrode and the second electrode are configured to provide a resonator structure.

6. The display unit according to claim 1 , wherein the second electrode includes a plurality of metal layers.

7. The display unit according to claim 1 , wherein the display unit is a bottom emission type display.

8. The display unit according to claim 1 , wherein a thickness of the first electrode is between 100 nm to 300 nm.

9. The display unit according to claim 1 , wherein the first electrode includes aluminum.

10. The display unit according to claim 1 , wherein a wiring is disposed on the insulating layer and the first electrode is connected to the wiring.
