Condition-responsive wearable device for sensing and indicating proximity of an article with a specific characteristic
A condition-responsive wearable device for sensing and indicating proximity of an article with a specific characteristic includes a processor and a sensor. The sensor is configured to detect an article with two or more information sources within a predetermined distance of the sensor. The information sources contain characteristic information of the article. The wearable device also includes a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to receive predefined characteristic information, select detected characteristic information from at least two of the information sources to compare with the predefined characteristic information, and compare the selected detected characteristic information with the predefined characteristic information. The wearable device includes an indicator configured to generate an alarm in response to detecting a match between the selected detected characteristic information and the predefined characteristic information.
1. A condition-responsive wearable device, comprising:
at least one processor;
a sensor configured to:
detect an article with a plurality of information sources within a predetermined distance of the sensor, the information sources providing first characteristic information and second characteristic information associated with the article; and
detect the first characteristic information from a first information source among the plurality of information sources;
a second sensor configured to:
detect the article with the plurality of information sources within a predetermined distance of the second sensor: and
detect the second characteristic information from a second information source among the plurality of information sources;
an input component configured to receive an input from a user; and
a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to:
receive third characteristic information from the input component;
select fourth characteristic information from among the first and second characteristic information;
compare the third and fourth characteristic information; and
selectively generate an alarm, based on the comparison.
2. The condition-responsive wearable device of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of information sources comprise at least one of: a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag, a label, a Quick Response (QR) code, or a physical shape.
3. The condition-responsive wearable device of claim 1 , wherein the sensor comprises at least one of a Quick Response Code reader, a barcode reader, a camera, or a Radio-frequency Identification (RFID) reader.
4. The condition-responsive wearable device of claim 1 , wherein the sensor is further configured to detect the information source in response to the information source being within the predetermined distance of the sensor.
5. The condition-responsive wearable device of claim 1 , the instructions further comprising updating fourth characteristic information in response to receiving the second characteristic information.
6. The condition-responsive wearable device of claim 1 , wherein the alarm is generated in response to a match or mismatch between the third and fourth characteristic information.
7. The condition-responsive wearable device of claim 1 , wherein the generated alarm comprises at least one of: a vibration, a sound, or a displayable alert.
8. The condition-responsive wearable device of claim 1 , wherein the alarm is generated according to alarm intensity data stored at the wearable device.
9. The condition-responsive wearable device of claim 1 , wherein the article holds sub-articles, and wherein the characteristic information comprises characteristic information for at least a plurality of the sub-articles.
10. The condition-responsive wearable device of claim 1 , wherein the article is a medicine container.
11. The condition-responsive wearable device of claim 1 , wherein the article is a food-product container.
12. A method, comprising:
detecting, using a first sensor of a condition-responsive wearable device, an article with a plurality of information sources within a predetermined distance of the sensor, the information sources providing first characteristic information and second characteristic information associated with the article;
detecting, using the first sensor, the first characteristic information from a first information source among the plurality of information sources;
detecting, using a second sensor of the condition-responsive wearable device, the article with the plurality of information sources within a predetermined distance of the second sensor;
detecting, using the second sensor, the second characteristic information from a second information source among the plurality of information sources;
receiving third characteristic information from an input component of the condition- responsive wearable device;
selecting, by the condition-responsive wearable device, fourth characteristic information from among the first and second characteristic information;
comparing, by the condition-responsive wearable device, the third and fourth characteristic information; and
selectively, by the condition-responsive wearable device, generating an alarm, based on the comparison.
13. The method of claim 12 , wherein the plurality of information sources comprise at least one of: a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag, a label, a Quick Response (QR) code, or a physical shape.
14. The method of claim 12 , wherein the first sensor comprises at least one of
a Quick Response Code reader, a barcode reader, a camera, or a Radio-frequency Identification (RFID) reader.
15. The method of claim 12 , wherein the first sensor is configured to detect the information source in response to the information source being within the predetermined distance of the sensor.
16. The method of claim 12 , further comprising updating fourth characteristic information in response to receiving the second characteristic information.
17. The method of claim 12 , wherein the alarm is generated in response to a match or mismatch between the third and fourth characteristic information.
18. The method of claim 12 , wherein the generated alarm comprises at least one of: a vibration, a sound, or a displayable alert.
19. The method of claim 12 , wherein the alarm is generated according to alarm intensity data stored at the wearable device.
20. The method of claim 12 , wherein the article holds sub-articles, and wherein the characteristic information comprises characteristic information for at least a plurality of the sub-articles.
