Abstract

A non-dissolvable immersible dispensing puck in the shape of a dissolvable halogen puck when the dissolvable halogen puck is in an undissolved state with the non-dissolvable immersible dispensing puck physically interchangeable with a dissolvable halogen puck when placed in a dispenser for normally holding only a set of halogen pucks to enable a single dispersant dispenser to be converted to a dual dispersant dispenser without changing the structure of the single dispersant dispenser by placing a dispenser within a dispenser wherein only one of the dispensers may be provided with adjustable water ports.

Claims (6)

1. The method of converting a floating dispenser with a set of water ports located therein from a single disperant mode to a dual dispersant mode without altering the structure of the floating dispenser where the floating dispenser in the single dispersant mode includes a flotation member with a single halogen dispersant chamber containing a plurality of halogen pucks therein as a sanitizing agent with the single halogen dispersant chamber located partially within the flotation member with a conversion from the single dispersant mode to the dual disperant mode obtained by replacing a one of the plurality of halogen pucks with a similar shaped stand alone nondissolvable mineral puck having a set of water ports therein for dispensing a further sanitizing agent from within the mineral puck into the floating dispenser with the floating dispenser simultaneously dispensing both the sanitizing agent and the further sanitizing agent from the floating dispenser into a body of water where the dual dispersant mode comprises delivery of the sanitizing agent and the further sanitizing agent into the body of water through the set of water ports located in the floating dispenser to thereby change the floating dispenser from the single dispersant mode to the dual disperant mode without altering the structure of the floating dispenser.

2. The method of claim 1 wherein the further sanitizing agent delivered from the mineral puck are metal ions.

3. The method of claim 2 wherein the floating dispenser set of further water ports are adjustable water ports.

4. The method of claim 2 including stacking the plurality halogen pucks and the nondissolvable puck on top of each other and in a face-to-face condition in the single dispersant chamber with the nondissolvable puck having an interchangeable shape with each of the plurality of halogen pucks.

5. The method of claim 1 including stacking at least three water dissolvable halogen pucks on top of the nondissolvable puck and the ingress and egress of water in nondissolvable puck occurs through the set of water ports in a rigid sidewall of the nondissolvable puck.

6. The method of claim 1 wherein a level of halogen in the pool or spa is maintained at least 2 ppm when the halogen is chlorine through a water port adjustment on the dispenser.
