Abstract

A method for unscrewing a link nut of an HP rotor of a twin-spool turbine, including a front fan, an intermediate casing, a HP module with a HP rotor, and a LP turbine module, the intermediate casing including a support bearing for the HP rotor, the rotor being retained in the bearing by the link nut, the method including: placing an unscrewing tool in front of the link nut after having removed the fan and released access to the nut from the front; with rotation of the HP rotor locked and the frontal unscrewing tool including a socket spanner including teeth having a shape that complements that of teeth of the link nut, attaching a mounting for the socket spanner to the intermediate casing, the socket spanner being rotatably mounted on the mounting, and applying an unscrewing torque to the socket spanner. An unscrewing tool implements the method.

Claims (20)

1. An unscrewing tooling configured to unscrew a connecting nut of a rotor of a gas turbine engine module, comprising:

a tubular wrench; and

a support for said tubular wrench, the support comprising a cylindrical barrel and four branches radially extending in a star shape from the barrel, the four branches being integrally connected to each other so as to form a single monolithic piece, a first radial end of each of the branches being connected to the barrel and a second radial end of each of the branches being free and presenting a thickness in an axial direction, the second radial end of each of the branches being radially outward of the first radial end of each of the branches,

wherein the tubular wrench comprises teeth mounted removably in the barrel of the support,

wherein the unscrewing tooling further comprises:

an axial locking member which axially locks the tubular wrench with respect to the support; and

an anti-rotation tool configured to block the rotor against any rotational movement about its axis,

wherein removable shoes are mounted on the second free ends of the branches, the removable shoes and the second free ends of the branches including holes,

wherein the tubular wrench comprises two circular bearing surfaces which extend each radially from the tubular wrench and placed in a corresponding ring, the corresponding ring being located between the tubular wrench and the support, and

wherein the axial locking member comprises a removable annulus located upstream of one of the two circular bearing surfaces.

2. The tooling as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the anti-rotation tool comprises a tubular element comprising wedges, the tubular element configured to be introduced inside a high-pressure (HP) rotor of the gas turbine engine module to immobilize the HP rotor against rotation.

3. The tooling as claimed in claim 1 , wherein axes of the holes of the second free ends of the branches are parallel to an axis of the barrel.

4. The tooling as claimed in claim 1 , wherein a width of the removable shoes is equal to a width of the branches.

5. The tooling according to claim 1 , wherein the removable shoes present an L-shaped cross section with a racially extending portion and an axially extending portion, the holes of the removable shoes being disposed on the radially extending portion of the removable shoes.

6. The tooling as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the axial locking member axially locks the tubular wrench and the support with respect to each other.

7. The tooling as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the removable annulus is located onto the tubular wrench and comprises a radial surface that cooperates with the support and the tubular wrench.

8. The tooling as claimed in claim 7 , wherein the removable annulus is arranged in a groove of the support.

9. The tooling as claimed in claim 8 , wherein the removable annulus comprises a smooth annular inner surface.

10. The tooling as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the barrel extends along a longitudinal axis parallel to a longitudinal axis of the tubular wrench.

11. The tooling as claimed in claim 1 , wherein a length of the barrel in the axial direction is greater than a length of the branches in the axial direction.
