Abstract

Embodiments of the present disclosure include a system and a method of accessing a system. An embodiment is a system including an imaging system including a controller and a first camera, the controller having a communication connection configured to transmit or receive content or control signals, and a mobile device including a second camera, the mobile device having a communication interface configured to transmit or receive content or control signals with the controller, the controller being configured to compare images from the first and second cameras to allow access to the controller from the mobile device.

Claims (50)

1. A system comprising:

a controller having a communication connection, the controller configured to transmit or receive content or control signals;

an imaging system comprising a first video camera configured to capture a first video of a body part; and

a mobile device configured to request access to the controller, the mobile device comprising a second video camera configured to capture a second video of the body part as captured by the first video camera, wherein the mobile device receives system remote installation and remote maintenance authentication access through the communication connection and in accordance with a result of a video comparison, by the controller, of the first video and the second video.

2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the body part is a face, a partial face, or a human finger of a user of the mobile device.

3. The system of claim 1 , wherein the video comparison comprises:

detecting, in the first video, a first pulse corresponding to a change of color in the body part or a pulsing movement in the body part;

detecting, in the second video, a second pulse corresponding to a change of color in the body part or a pulsing movement in the body part; and

granting system remote installation and remote maintenance authentication access in response to the first pulse and the second pulse being in synchronization.

4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the communication connection comprises a cellular connection, a Bluetooth connection, a Wi-Fi connection, an infrared connection, a powerline communication connection, or a combination thereof.

The system of claim 1 , wherein the mobile device further comprises a communication interface configured to transmit or receive content or control signals with the controller and transmit location data of the mobile device to the controller, wherein the controller is further configured to utilize the location data during the video comparison.

The system of claim 1 , wherein the mobile device further comprises a communication interface configured to transmit or receive content or control signals with the controller and transmit orientation data to the controller, the orientation data comprising a direction the mobile device is facing, azimuth of the mobile device, or a combination thereof, wherein the controller is further configured to utilize the orientation data during the video comparison.

7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the controller is located in at least one of local to the system, remotely from the system on a cloud-based system, or within the mobile device.

8. A method of a mobile device accessing a system, the method comprising:

attempting, by the mobile device, access to the system;

capturing, by a video camera of the mobile device, a first video of a body part; and

receiving, at the mobile device, system remote installation and remote maintenance authentication access through a communication connection and in accordance with a result of a comparison, by a controller, of the first video to a second video, the second video corresponding to a video of the body part as captured by a video camera of the system.

9. The method of claim 8 , wherein the body part is a face, a partial face, or a human finger of a user of the mobile device.

10. The method of claim 8 , wherein receiving system remote installation and remote maintenance authentication access further comprises:

detecting, by the controller, a first pulse corresponding to a change of color in the body part or a pulsing movement in the body part in the first video; and

detecting, by the controller, a second pulse corresponding to a change of color in the body part or a pulsing movement in the body part in the second video; and

granting system remote installation and remote maintenance authentication access in response to the first pulse and the second pulse being in synchronization.

11. The method of claim 8 , further comprising sending the first video from the mobile device to the system using a cellular connection, a Bluetooth connection, a Wi-Fi connection, an infrared connection, a powerline communication connection, or a combination thereof.

12. The method of claim 8 , further comprising sending location data of the first video to the controller.

13. The method of claim 8 , further comprising sending time data of the first video to the controller.

14. The method of claim 8 , wherein receiving system remote installation and remote maintenance authentication access further comprises comparing, by the controller, a result of a comparison between the first video to the second video to a predetermined threshold.

15. The method of claim 14 , further comprising adjusting the predetermined threshold by an authorized user.

16. The method of claim 8 , wherein receiving system remote installation and remote maintenance authentication access further comprises:

comparing, by the controller, location data from the first video to location data from the second video; and

comparing, by the controller, the result of the location data comparison to a predetermined threshold.

17. The method of claim 8 , wherein receiving system remote installation and remote maintenance authentication access further comprises:

comparing, by the controller, time data from the first video to time data from the second video; and

comparing, by the controller, the result of the time data comparison to a predetermined threshold.

18. The method of claim 8 , wherein the controller is located in at least one of within the system, remotely on a cloud-based system, or within the mobile device.

19. A method of accessing a system, the method comprising:

receiving, at the system, a request to access the system by a mobile device, wherein a video camera in the system captures a first video of a body part;

receiving, at the system, a second video of the body part captured by a video camera in the mobile device; and

transmitting, by the system, system remote installation and remote maintenance authentication access to the mobile device through a communication connection and in accordance with a result of a comparison, by a controller, between the first video and the second video.

20. The method of claim 19 , wherein the body part is a face, a partial face, or a human finger of a user of the mobile device.

21. The method of claim 19 , wherein transmitting system remote installation and remote maintenance authentication access further comprises:

detecting, by the controller, a first pulse corresponding to a change of color in the body part or a pulsing movement in the body part in the first video; and

detecting, by the controller, a second pulse corresponding to a change of color in the body part or a pulsing movement in the body part in the second video; and

granting system remote installation and remote maintenance authentication access in response to the first pulse and the second pulse being in synchronization.

22. The method of claim 19 , wherein transmitting system remote installation and remote maintenance authentication access further comprises comparing the first video to the second video.

23. The method of claim 22 , further comprising transmitting the first video to the mobile device, wherein comparing the first video to the second video is performed by the mobile device.

24. The method of claim 22 , further comprising transmitting, by the system, the first video and the second video to a controller of the system, wherein the comparing the first video to the second video is performed by the controller.

25. The method of claim 24 , wherein the controller is located locally within the system.

26. The method of claim 24 , wherein the controller is remotely located from the system in a cloud-based platform.

27. The method of claim 19 , wherein transmitting system remote installation and remote maintenance authentication access further comprises comparing two sets of analytics data.

28. The method of claim 27 , wherein the two sets of analytics data comprises location data, orientation data, time data, biometric data, or a combination thereof.
