Abstract

Devices, systems and methods for providing rider control assemblies for adjusting and displaying pressure and height settings for vehicle air suspension devices, such as on adjustable air shocks and air struts, used in vehicles such as motorcycles. The assemblies can have a protruding eyelet portion that can be mounted to existing control panel clamps on motorcycle handlebars. The assemblies can have two part housings attached to one another by waterproof gaskets placed in opposite facing channels.

Claims (32)

1. An air pressure and display system for an air shock on a motorcycle, comprising:

a waterproof housing;

a display on the housing for displaying pressure level in the motorcycle air pressure shock;

a switch on the housing for increasing and decreasing air pressure to the motorcycle air shock; and

a mount consisting of a single eyelet extending from the housing, wherein an existing fastener attaching a strap from an existing control panel attached to a handlebar of the motorcycle is removed and a single fastener is reattached through the single eyelet on the housing and into the existing strap on the existing control panel, and is used for attaching the air pressure and display system to the motorcycle.

2. The air pressure and display system of claim 1 , wherein the switch include: press button switches.

3. The air pressure and display system of claim 1 , wherein the waterproof housing further comprises:

a main chassis;

a rear cover;

a gasket between the main chassis and the rear cover; and

fasteners for attaching the main chassis to the rear cover, wherein the gasket forms a waterproof seal between the main chassis and the rear cover.

4. The air pressure and display system of claim 3 , wherein both the main chassis and the rear cover include channels which face one another so that the gasket fits into the channels.

5. The air pressure and display system of claim 1 , wherein the single eyelet protrudes from a corner of the housing.

6. The air pressure and display system of claim 1 , wherein the display includes a liquid crystal display (LCD) for displaying pressure in pounds per square inch (PSI).

7. The air pressure and display system of claim 1 , further comprising:

a height display for displaying height of the motorcycle above ground level.

8. The air pressure and display system of claim 7 , wherein the height display displays the extension of the air shock in percentage (%).

9. The air pressure and display system of claim 1 , wherein the housing includes:

a generally rectangular housing having top and bottom sides generally parallel to each other, the single eyelet extending upward from adjacent to a left corner of the main chassis.

10. The air pressure and display system of claim 9 , wherein the housing further includes:

a left side having a portion that protrudes outward for allowing a left portion of the housing to fit underneath the existing strap on the existing control panel that is attached to the handlebar of the motorcycle.

11. The air pressure and display system of claim 1 , wherein the single fastener for the system is longer than the one existing fastener that is removed.

12. An air pressure and display system for controlling air pressure to a motorcycle air shock, comprising:

a water protected housing;

a display on the housing for displaying pressure in the motorcycle air shock;

a switch for increasing and decreasing air pressure levels to the motorcycle air shock; and

a mount with a single eyelet extending from the housing, wherein a fastener which is attaching a strap from the existing control panel to the handle bar on the motorcycle is removed and another fastener is reattached through the single eyelet on the housing and into the existing strap on the existing control panel, is used for attaching the assembly to the handlebar on the motorcycle.

13. The air pressure and display system of claim 12 , wherein the housing includes:

a generally rectangular housing, the single eyelet extending upward from adjacent to a left corner of the main chassis.

14. The air pressure and display system of claim 13 , wherein the housing further includes:

a side having a portion that protrudes outward for allowing a portion of the housing to fit underneath the existing strap on the existing control panel that is attached to the handlebar of the motorcycle.

15. The air pressure and display system of claim 12 , wherein the another fastener for the system is longer than the fastener that is removed.
