Devices and methods for a neonate incubator, capsule and cart
Systems and method for positioning a neonate within an imaging device are provided. A capsule incubator, a cart, and a docking incubator are used to move a baby between an imaging device and a incubator, such that a baby can be imagined without having to move the baby from its environment.
1. A magnetic resonance imaging device comprising:
a magnet having a bore that is open, the bore having a first end and a second end;
a first radio frequency (RF) and magnetic shielding member coupled to the first end of the bore to open and close the bore, such that when the first RF and magnetic shielding member is in a closed position, RF radiation and magnetic fields are prevented from entering or exiting the first end of the bore; and
a second radio frequency (RF) and magnetic shielding member coupled to the second end of the bore such that RF radiation and magnetic fields are prevented from entering or exiting the second end of the bore,
wherein the first RF and magnetic shielding member further comprises two openings and a conduit, the conduit having a length to width ratio of at least 5 to 1 to prevent RF radiation and magnetic fields from entering and exiting the bore when the first RF and magnetic shielding member is in the closed position.
2. The magnetic resonance imaging device of claim 1 wherein the magnet is a superconductor magnet.
3. The magnetic resonance imaging device of claim 1 wherein the first RF and magnetic shielding member is detachably coupled to the first end of the bore.
4. The magnetic resonance imaging device of claim 1 wherein the second RF and magnetic shielding member is detachably coupled to the second end of the bore.
5. The magnetic resonance imaging device of claim 1 wherein the first RF and magnetic shielding member further comprises a protrusion dimensioned to receive an incubator, and wherein the bore is dimensioned such that the incubator seals the bore when inserted into the bore of the magnetic resonance imaging device.
6. The magnetic resonance imaging device of claim 1 wherein the second RF and magnetic shielding member further comprises two openings and a conduit, the conduit having a length to width ratio that prevents RF radiation and magnetic fields from entering and exiting the bore when the second RF and magnetic shielding member is in the closed position.
7. The magnetic resonance imaging device of claim 1 wherein at least one of the first RF and magnetic shielding member and the second RF and magnetic shielding member are comprised of aluminum.
8. The magnetic resonance imaging device of claim 1 wherein at least one of the first RF and magnetic shielding member and the second RF and magnetic shielding member comprises honeycomb tubing, wherein each tube of the honeycomb tubing has a length to width ratio that prevents RF radiation and magnetic fields from entering and exiting the bore when the respective RF and magnetic shielding member is in the closed position.
9. The magnetic resonance imaging device of claim 1 wherein at least one of the first RF and magnetic shielding member and the second RF and magnetic shielding member comprises a mesh material, where each opening in the mesh material has a length to width ratio that prevents RF radiation and magnetic fields from entering and exiting the bore when the respective RF and magnetic shielding member is in the closed position.
