ANIMAL FEED RECOMMENDATION METHODS AND SYSTEMS
A system and method for recommending and providing food to an animal which includes a computer and server system usable in conjunction with a feeder and a collar. The computer system being configured to receive input data from the following sources: food consumption information associated with an animal; activity information associated with the animal; profile data associated with the animal; environmental data associated with the animal; an animal profile database; an animal feed database. The system and methods then utilize data input so as to compares profile data associated with the animal to the animal profile database to determine an initial baseline for a given animal, and then compares food consumption information or activity information with the animal feed database so as to determine a type and quantity of food to be fed to the animal, as selected from the animal feed database.
1 . An animal food recommendation system comprising:
non-transitory computer-readable medium containing one or more sets of computer instructions; and
processing circuitry to receive input data from the following sources:
food consumption information associated with an animal;
activity information associated with the animal;
profile data associated with the animal;
environmental data associated with the animal;
an animal profile database;
an animal feed database; and
wherein the processing circuitry compares profile data associated with the animal to the animal profile database to determine an initial baseline for a given animal, and then compares food consumption information or activity information with the animal feed database so as to determine a type and quantity of food, as selected from the animal feed database, to be fed to the animal.
2 . The animal food recommendation system of claim 1 , further comprising an automatic food dispensing system configured to monitor food consumption information associated with the animal and transmit said food consumption information to the processing circuitry.
3 . The animal food recommendation system of claim 1 , further comprising an activity tracking collar configured to monitor activity information associated with the animal and transmit said activity information to the processing circuitry.
4 . The animal food recommendation system of claim 3 , wherein the activity tracking collar further monitors environmental data associated with the animal and transmit said environmental data to the processing circuitry.
5 . The animal food recommendation system of claim 1 , wherein environmental data associated with the animal is obtained from one or more environmental information databases for a geographic area associated with the animal.
6 . The animal food recommendation system of claim 1 , wherein the profile data is manually entered by a user attending to the animal's well-being.
7 . The animal food recommendation system of claim 1 , further comprising an automatic food dispensing system configured to receive and dispense the type and quantity of food recommended for the animal.
8 . The animal food recommendation system of claim 7 , wherein the automatic food dispensing system includes a dispensing bowl that has a retractable cover.
9 . The animal food recommendation system of claim 8 , wherein the retractable cover of the automatic food dispensing system is activated by a proximity sensor detecting a wireless transponder associated with the animal.
10 . The animal food recommendation system of claim 7 , wherein the automatic food dispensing system includes a plurality of receptacles each configured to hold and dispense varying kinds of animal feed.
11 . The animal food recommendation system of claim 1 , wherein the food recommendation can be received by a third-party animal feed and delivery provider.
12 . A method for recommending food to an animal comprising the steps of:
receiving data into a non-transitory computer-readable medium from the following sources:
food consumption information associated with an animal;
activity information associated with the animal;
profile data associated with the animal;
environmental data associated with the animal;
an animal profile database;
an animal feed database; and
utilizing a set of processing circuitry to perform the following tasks:
comparing profile data associated with the animal with an animal profile database to determine an initial nutritional baseline for the animal;
modifying the nutritional baseline based on food consumption information associated with the animal, activity information associated with the animal, or environmental data associated with the animal; and
selecting from an animal feed database a type and recommended quantity of food to be fed to the animal based on the modified nutritional baseline.
13 . The method for recommending food to an animal of claim 12 , wherein food consumption information associated with the animal is obtained by an automatic food dispensing system that measure the quantity of food consumed by the animal.
14 . The method for recommending food to an animal of claim 12 , wherein activity information associated with the animal is obtained by an activity tracking collar associated with the animal.
15 . The method for recommending food to an animal of claim 14 , wherein environmental data associated with the animal is obtained by the activity tracking collar associated with the animal.
16 . The method for recommending food to an animal of claim 12 , wherein environmental data associated with the animal is obtained from one or more environmental databases having environmental data for the geographic region in which the animal resides.
17 . The method for recommending food to an animal of claim 12 , furthering including sending the type and quantity of recommended food to an automatic food dispensing system.
18 . The method for recommending food to an animal of 17 , wherein the automatic food dispensing system includes a retractable cover that is activated by a proximity sensor detecting a wireless transponder associated with the animal.
19 . The method for recommending food to an animal of claim 17 , wherein the automatic food dispensing system includes a plurality of receptacles each configured to hold and dispense a different kind of animal feed.
20 . The method for recommending food to an animal of claim 12 , further including the step of sending a notification of the type and quantity of recommended food for the animal to a third-party animal feed and delivery provider.
