Abstract

Systems, Methods and Apparatuses To Create Real World Value And Demand For Virtual Spaces Via An Alternate Reality Environment are disclosed. In one aspect, embodiments of the present disclosure include a method, which may be implemented on a system, to generate the virtual world over the physical place in the real world such that, as observed by a human user, the virtual world appears to be visually superimposed over the physical place in the real world. The method can further include determining a lateral position of placement for a virtual object in the virtual world. Multiple vertical positions for placement of the virtual object can be associated with the lateral position where an eye level or near eye level vertical position of the multiple vertical positions is associated with a higher cost than non eye level vertical positions of the multiple vertical positions.

Claims (93)

1 . A method to generate a virtual world that is relevant to a physical place in the real world, the method, comprising:

generating the virtual world over the physical place in the real world;

wherein, the virtual world is generated such that, as observed by a human user, the virtual world appears to be visually superimposed over the physical place in the real world;

determining a lateral position of placement for a virtual object in the virtual world;

controlling human perceptibility of the virtual object in the virtual world, by the human user in the real world;

controlling accessibility of the virtual object in the virtual world by the human user;

managing consumption of the virtual object in the virtual world by the human user.

2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

determining a vertical position of the virtual object in the virtual world:

wherein, multiple vertical positions for placement of the virtual object are associated with the lateral position.

3 . The method of claim 2 :

wherein, the lateral position of the virtual object in the virtual world corresponds to positioning that is substantially parallel to a surface of the real world;

wherein, the vertical position of the virtual object in the virtual world corresponds to positioning that is substantially vertical to the surface of the real world.

4 . The method of claim 3 , wherein:

the surface of the real world includes, one or more of, the surface of earth, a surface of a mountain, a surface of a body of water, a ground, a floor in a room or building, a surface of a piece of furniture, a ceiling and a roof;

wherein, the virtual object is rendered in 2D and mapped to appear onto a surface of the real world.

5 . The method of claim 3 , wherein:

the surface of the real world includes, one or more of planar, diagonal, flat, curved, spherical, or a round surface.

wherein, multiple vertical positions for placement of the virtual object are associated with the lateral position;

further wherein, an eye level or near eye level vertical position of the multiple vertical positions is associated with a higher cost than non eye level vertical positions of the multiple vertical positions.

9 . The method of claim 1 ,

wherein, the virtual space surrounding the virtual object in the virtual world is associated with a fee;

wherein, the fee includes cost to acquire or lease the virtual space;

wherein, utilization of the virtual space surrounding the virtual object is determined by an entity who has paid the fee.

10 . The method of claim 1 ,

wherein, the human perceptibility of the virtual object is determined by a first proximity criteria;

wherein, the virtual object is perceptible by the human user when the first proximity criteria is met by the human user;

wherein the accessibility of the virtual object is determined by a second proximity criteria;

wherein, the human user can interact with the virtual object when the second proximity criteria is met by the human user.

12 . The method of claim 1 ,

wherein, the human perceptibility of the virtual object is determined by a first location criteria;

wherein, the virtual object is perceptible by the human user when the first location criteria is met by the human user;

wherein the first location criteria specifies one or more of:

a distance range of the human user from the physical place in the real world;.

a certain geographical area in the real world.

wherein, the first location criteria is adjustable or specifiable for a cost;

wherein the cost is paid for by an advertiser, merchant or brand.

wherein, a size of the virtual object as depicted in the virtual world is adjustable based on a price paid to place the virtual object in the virtual world;

wherein, a larger size of the virtual object corresponds to a higher price paid;

wherein, a smaller size of the virtual object corresponds to a lower price paid.

18 . A system to create real world value and demand for virtual spaces via an alternate reality environment relevant to a geographical location in the real world, the system, comprising:

means for, administering a first virtual space in the alternate reality environment;

means for, administering a second virtual space in the alternate reality environment;

wherein, the first virtual space and the second virtual space are associated with the geographical location in the real world;

wherein, a first virtual object posted in the first virtual space is more perceptible or accessible by human users of the alternate reality environment than the first virtual object posted in the second virtual space;

means for, imposing a fee requirement for the first virtual object to be posted in the first virtual space.

19 . The system of claim 18 , further comprising:

means for, presenting the first virtual object to be perceived or accessed by human users of the alternate reality environment, through association of the first virtual object with the first virtual space, in response to determining that the fee requirement has been met.

20 . A machine-readable storage medium having stored thereon instructions, which when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform a method, to generate a virtual world that is relevant to a physical place in the real world, the method, comprising:

generating a virtual world over the physical place in the real world;

wherein, the virtual world is generated such that, as observed by a human user, the virtual world appears to be visually superimposed over the physical place in the real world;

determining a lateral position of placement for a virtual object in the virtual world;

controlling human perceptibility of the virtual object in the virtual world, by the human user in the real world;

controlling accessibility of the virtual object by the human user.

21 . The method of claim 20 , further comprising:

controlling the human perceptibility or accessibility of the virtual object based on one or more of: a spartial criteria associated with the virtual object and a temporal criteria associated with the virtual object;

managing consumption of the virtual object by the human user;

wherein, the virtual object includes an incentive object.

24 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising,

managing the consumption of the virtual object based on, a usage criteria associated with the virtual object;

wherein the usage criteria includes an action performed or an achievement accomplished by the human user in the real world.

the action performed or the achievement accomplished by the human user, is performed, at a physical location, in the real world which:

is in or at the physical place in the real world; or

satisfies a spatial criteria associated with the virtual object;

further wherein, the virtual object includes an entry pass to a physical event in the real world.

determining a vertical position of the virtual object in the virtual world;

wherein, the virtual world is rendered to be accessible in substantially 360 degrees.

28 . The method of claim 27 :

wherein, the lateral position of the virtual object in the virtual world corresponds to positioning that is substantially parallel to a surface of the real world;

wherein, the vertical position of the virtual object in the virtual world corresponds to positioning that is substantially vertical to the surface of the real world;

wherein, the virtual world is rendered in 3D as observed by the human user.

wherein, multiple vertical positions for placement of the virtual object are associated with the lateral position;

further wherein, an eye level or near eye level vertical position of the multiple vertical positions is associated with a higher cost than non eye level vertical positions of the multiple vertical positions;

wherein, non eye level vertical positions include one or more of, a vertical position in the sky, a vertical position on the ground, and a vertical position under water.
