. The system of claim 134 further comprising the multiwell plate.

. The system of claim 137 , wherein the plurality of wells are organized in concentric circles around a center of the multiwell plate.

. The system of claim 138 , wherein the plurality of wells is arranged in a spokes-like arrangement.

. The system of claim 139 , wherein the multiwell plate further comprises one or more troughs.

. The system of claim 137 , wherein the multiwell plate comprises two or more different pluralities of wells, wherein the two or more different pluralities of wells differ with respect to their respective shape, dimension, optical properties, and/or surface properties.

. The system of claim 137 , wherein the wells of the multiwell plate include a first subset of the wells each having a well bottom that is translucent for light of a wavelength between 200 nm and 850 nm and a second subset of wells each having a well bottom that is opaque for light of a wavelength between 200 nm and 850 nm.

. The system of claim 138 , wherein there are at least two concentric circles of wells and each concentric circle includes a different type of well.

. The system of claim 143 , wherein a plurality of wells on an outer concentric circle has a smaller diameter or a smaller volume than a different plurality of wells on an inner concentric circle.

. The system of claim 143 , wherein a plurality of wells on a first circle of wells each comprise a translucent well bottom and a plurality of wells on a second circle of wells each comprise an opaque well bottom.

. The system of claim 134 , wherein the liquid handler is configured to deliver, to a first subset of the wells of the multiwell plate, a first type of reagent for a first type of assay and is configured to deliver, to a second subset of the wells of the multiwell plate, a second type of reagent for a second type of assay.

. The system of claim 134 further comprising

a sample preparation station to prepare the liquid sample for multianalyte detection comprising:

a filtration unit or centrifugation unit; and
