Abstract

According to one embodiment, a system and computer-readable storage medium for storage of software directed to the management of associations between network devices is described. The computer-readable storage medium comprising instructions which, when executed by at least one hardware processor on a network device, causes performance of operations, comprising: (1) determining a desired operating state for a client device under analysis, the client device being associated with a first network device of a plurality of network devices; (2) detecting if a triggering event has occurred based on a comparison of the desired operating state for the client device under analysis to an actual operating state for the client device under analysis; and (3) in response to detecting that the triggering event has occurred, causing the client device to wirelessly connect to a second network device of the plurality of network devices in lieu of the first network device.

Claims (18)

1. A network device comprising a physical processor that executes machine-readable instructions to cause the network device to:

determine a plurality of client devices that include multiple frequency band capability operating on a first type of radio of the network device;

determine a plurality of client devices that include multiple frequency band capability operating on a second type of radio of the network device;

compare a ratio of the plurality of client devices on the first type of radio and the plurality of client devices operating on the second type of radio to a threshold value;

cause a subset of the plurality of client devices operating on the first type of radio to operate on the second type of radio in response to the comparison.

2. The network device of claim 1 , wherein the subset of the plurality of client devices operate on the second type of radio of the network device in response to the ratio being less than the threshold value.

3. A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions executable by a processing resource that cause a computing device to:

determine a plurality of client devices that include multiple frequency band capability operating on a first type of radio of the network device;

determine a plurality of client devices that include multiple frequency band capability operating on a second type of radio of the network device;

compare a ratio of the plurality of client devices on the first type of radio and the plurality of client devices operating on the second type of radio to a threshold value;

cause a subset of the plurality of client devices operating on the first type of radio to operate on the second type of radio in response to the comparison.

4. The medium of claim 3 , wherein the subset of the plurality of client devices operate on the second frequency band type of radio of the network device in response to the ratio being less than the threshold value.

5. A method, comprising:

determining a plurality of client devices that include multiple frequency band capability operating on a first type of radio of the network device;

determining a plurality of client devices that include multiple frequency band capability operating on a second type of radio of the network device;

comparing a ratio of the plurality of client devices on the first type of radio and the plurality of client devices operating on the second type of radio to a threshold value;

causing a subset of the plurality of client devices operating on the first type of radio to operate on the second type of radio in response to the comparison.

6. The method of claim 5 , wherein the subset of the plurality of client devices operate on the second type of radio of the network device in response to the ratio being less than the threshold value.
