Abstract

Novel apparatus and methods for generating and transmitting an interruption signal to a request for a substantially autonomous vehicle taxi-service based on user-supplied input are presented. The disclosure provides an efficient technique for interrupting an initial request for a substantially autonomous vehicle taxi-service and in some embodiments, further enables for the rescheduling of the request for a substantially autonomous vehicle taxi-service to a future point in time based upon user supplied input.

Claims (15)

1 . A mobile communications device, the mobile communications device comprising a non-transient computer-readable storage medium, wherein the non-transient computer-readable storage medium comprises program instructions operable to:

process a first user-input, wherein the first user-input comprises an instruction for a substantially autonomous vehicle to navigate to a first location, and wherein the substantially autonomous vehicle is located at least greater than 79.5 to 80.7 metres from the mobile communications device when the first user-input is processed;

in response to the processing of the first user-input, process a first electronics screen output signal, wherein the first electronics screen output signal indicates a first relative position of the substantially autonomous vehicle, and wherein no interruption signal has been sent from the mobile communications device intended for the substantially autonomous vehicle when the first electronics screen output signal is processed; and

process a second electronics screen output signal, wherein the second electronics screen output signal interrupts the electronics screen output of the first output signal by outputting a data that is different to the first electronics screen output signal indicating the first relative position of the substantially autonomous vehicle; and

wherein the first output signal and the second output signal are each processed wherein the substantially autonomous vehicle is greater than 79.5 to 80.7 metres from the substantially autonomous vehicle.

2 . A mobile communications device, the mobile communications device comprising a non-transient computer-readable storage medium, wherein the non-transient computer-readable storage medium comprises program instructions operable to:

generate a first electronics screen output signal in response to a first user-input, wherein the first electronics screen output signal provides an indication of a relative position of a substantially autonomous vehicle that has not been interrupted from navigating to a first location such that the substantially autonomous vehicle will be one of within, equal to, or less than a 79.5 to 80.7 metre radius of the mobile communications device at a point in time, and wherein no interruption signal has been sent from the mobile communications device intended for the substantially autonomous vehicle when the first electronics screen output signal is processed; and

wherein the first user-input comprises an instruction to navigate to the first location, and wherein the first user-input is processed wherein the mobile communications device is greater than 79.5 to 80.7 metres from the mobile communications device; and

process a second electronics screen output signal, wherein the second electronics screen output signal interrupts the electronics screen output of the first output signal by outputting a data that is different to the first electronics screen output signal indicating the first relative position of the substantially autonomous vehicle; and

wherein the first output signal and the second output signal are each processed wherein the substantially autonomous vehicle is greater than 79.5 to 80.7 metres from the substantially autonomous vehicle.

3 . A mobile communications device, the mobile communications device comprising a non-transient computer-readable storage medium, wherein the non-transient computer-readable storage medium comprises program instructions operable to perform a method, the method comprising:

processing a first user-input, wherein the first user-input comprises an instruction for a substantially autonomous vehicle to navigate to a first location, and wherein the substantially autonomous vehicle is located at least greater than 79.5 to 80.7 metres from the mobile communications device when the first user-input is processed;

processing, in response to the processing of the first user-input, a first electronics screen output signal, wherein the first electronics screen output signal indicates a first relative position of the substantially autonomous vehicle, and wherein no interruption signal has been sent from the mobile communications device intended for the substantially autonomous vehicle when the first electronics screen output signal is processed; and

processing a second electronics screen output signal, wherein the second electronics screen output signal interrupts the electronics screen output of the first output signal by outputting a data that is different to the first electronics screen output signal indicating the first relative position of the substantially autonomous vehicle; and

wherein the first output signal and the second output signal are each processed wherein the substantially autonomous vehicle is greater than 79.5 to 80.7 metres from the substantially autonomous vehicle.
