ON-CHAIN FEES IN A BLOCKCHAIN DISTRIBUTION NETWORK
A system for implementing payments in a blockchain distribution network includes a first peer node that includes a first processor configured to generate a blockchain that includes information regarding a plurality of transactions. The plurality of transactions includes a plurality of fee transactions that each result in a payment to the blockchain distribution network. For each of the plurality of fee transactions, the first processor is configured to generate payment details to facilitate the payment to the blockchain distribution network. The first processor is also configured to associate the payment details with each of the plurality of fee transactions. The first peer node also includes a first transceiver operatively coupled to the first processor and configured to transmit the blockchain for distribution throughout the blockchain distribution network.
1 . A system for implementing payments in a blockchain distribution network, wherein the system comprises:
a first peer node that includes a first processor configured to:
generate a blockchain that includes information regarding a plurality of transactions, wherein the plurality of transactions includes a plurality of fee transactions that each result in a payment to the blockchain distribution network;
for each of the plurality of fee transactions, generate payment details to facilitate the payment to the blockchain distribution network; and
associate the payment details with each of the plurality of fee transactions; and
a first transceiver of the first peer node operatively coupled to the first processor and configured to transmit the blockchain for distribution throughout the blockchain distribution network.
2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of transactions includes a plurality of no fee transactions that result in no payment to the blockchain distribution network.
3 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the first processor is configured to ensure that a percentage of fee transactions included in the blockchain satisfies a designated percentage of a total number of transactions included in the blockchain.
4 . The system of claim 3 , wherein the designated percentage of fee transactions to be included in the blockchain is between 60% and 80%.
5 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the payment details include an amount of the payment to the blockchain distribution network.
6 . The system of claim 5 , wherein the amount of the payment comprises a percentage of a miner fee associated with a given transaction.
7 . The system of claim 6 , wherein the percentage of the miner fee is between 5% and 15%.
8 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the payment details of a given transaction include specification of a public address associated with the blockchain distribution network as a payee for the given transaction.
9 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the information regarding the plurality of transactions includes transaction identifiers that map to transactions and their payment details, wherein the transaction identifiers are used to reduce a size of the blockchain.
10 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the plurality of transactions further includes a plurality of no identifier (ID) transactions, wherein the no ID transactions are not associated with a transaction identifier.
11 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising a second peer node that includes:
a second transceiver configured to receive the blockchain; and
a second processor operatively coupled to the second transceiver and configured to determine whether a designated percentage of a total number of transactions included in the blockchain are fee transactions.
12 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the second processor is configured to reject the blockchain as invalid responsive to a determination that the designated percentage of fee transactions in the blockchain is not satisfied.
13 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the second transceiver receives the blockchain directly from the first peer node.
14 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the second transceiver receives the blockchain from a server of the blockchain distribution network.
15 . A method for implementing payments in a blockchain distribution network, the method comprising:
generating, by a first processor of a first peer node, a blockchain that includes information regarding a plurality of transactions, wherein the plurality of transactions includes a plurality of fee transactions that each result in a payment to the blockchain distribution network;
generating, by the first processor and for each of the plurality of fee transactions, payment details to facilitate the payment to the blockchain distribution network;
associating, by the first processor, the payment details with each of the plurality of fee transactions; and
transmitting, by a first transceiver of the first peer node operatively coupled to the first processor, the blockchain for distribution throughout the blockchain distribution network.
16 . The method of claim 15 , further comprising ensuring, by the first processor, that a percentage of fee transactions included in the blockchain satisfies a designated percentage of a total number of transactions included in the blockchain.
17 . The method of claim 15 , wherein generating the payment details comprises determining an amount of the payment to the blockchain distribution network for a given transaction, and wherein the amount of the payment comprises a percentage of a miner fee associated with the given transaction.
18 . The method of claim 15 , wherein generating the payment details comprises specifying a public address associated with the blockchain distribution network as a payee for each of the plurality of fee transactions.
19 . The method of claim 15 , further comprising:
receiving the blockchain by a second transceiver of a second peer node; and
determining, by a second processor of the second peer node operatively coupled to the second transceiver, whether a designated percentage of a total number of transactions included in the blockchain are fee transactions.
20 . The method of claim 19 , further comprising rejecting, by the second processor, the blockchain as invalid responsive to a determination that the designated percentage of fee transactions included in the blockchain is not satisfied.
