Abstract

A method for initiating a telemedicine conference on a mobile device is provided. The method comprises receiving diagnostic test results in response to a diagnostic test, determining if the diagnostic test results include a positive result, storing the diagnostic test results on a server disposed on a network, presenting, if the diagnostic test results are positive, a telemedicine initiation option on a screen of the mobile device, determining whether the telemedicine initiation option is selected, sending the diagnostic test results from the server to the telemedicine provider, sending additional medical history information to the telemedicine provider, and initiating a telemedicine conference with the telemedicine provider. Some of these aspects also provide healthcare providers the ability to electronically send prescriptions and provide users the ability to use a mobile application to send prescriptions to pharmacies to be filled.

Claims (46)

1. A system, comprising:

a mobile device including a camera, a viewing screen, and a software application stored thereon, wherein the software application provides executable instructions that, when executed, cause the mobile device to:

initiate operation of the camera of the mobile device;

detect a misalignment of a testing device with a displayed outline in a display of the mobile device, wherein the displayed outline corresponds to a shape of the testing device;

while the misalignment of the testing device with the displayed outline occurs, generate and display a warning message on the display of the mobile device indicating the misalignment;

detect an alignment of the testing device with the displayed outline in the display of the mobile device; and

automatically trigger capture of an image of the testing device in response to detection of the alignment of the testing device with the displayed outline;

generate a graphical user display requesting input of user information relating to an insurance quote;

receive the user information relating to the insurance quote from the graphical user display;

transmit an insurance quote request including the image of the testing device and the user information relating to the insurance quote;

a server disposed on a network, the server configured to:

receive, from the mobile device, the insurance quote request including the image of the testing device and the user information relating to the insurance quote;

determine diagnostic test results based on the image of the testing device;

store the diagnostic test results and the user information relating to the insurance quote;

transmit the insurance quote request including the diagnostic test results and at least a portion of the user information relating to the insurance quote to one or more insurance providers, responsive to determination of the diagnostic test results;

receive at least one insurance quote from the one or more insurance providers responsive to the insurance quote request, the at least one insurance quote determined responsive to the diagnostic test results and the at least the portion of the user information relating to the insurance quote; and

transmit the at least one insurance quote to the mobile device.

2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the testing device includes a plurality of immunoassay test strips.

3. The system of claim 2 , wherein a test line of one of the plurality of immunoassay test strips includes Zika virus antigen and a test line of another one of the plurality of immunoassay test strips includes an antibody suitable for binding with hCG.

4. The system of claim 2 , wherein the software application further provides executable instructions that, when executed, cause the mobile device to:

process the image to determine pixel count and line intensity of a test line of each of the plurality of immunoassay test strips;

compare one or more results of processing the image to a control for each test line of each of the plurality of immunoassay test strips; and

present the diagnostic test results on the viewing screen.

5. The system of claim 4 , wherein the executable instructions, when executed, further cause the mobile device to:

present the at least one quote on the viewing screen; and

establish a communication session with an insurance representative.

6. The system of claim 4 , wherein the control is a dataset from previously conducted tests stored on a database and accessed by the software application.

7. The system of claim 4 , wherein the diagnostic test results include a quantitative result.

8. The system of claim 7 , wherein the quantitative result includes a numerical rating.

9. The system of claim 1 , wherein the server is further configured to:

determine if the diagnostic test results include a positive result;

present, if the diagnostic test results are positive, a telemedicine initiation option on a screen of the mobile device;

determine whether the telemedicine initiation option is selected;

send the diagnostic test results from the server to a telemedicine provider;

send additional medical history information to the telemedicine provider; and

initiate a telemedicine conference with the telemedicine provider.

10. The system of claim 9 , wherein the server is further configured to:

receive, over the network, a notification relating to an issued prescription; and

communicate information relating to the issued prescription over the network to a pharmacy.

11. A system, comprising:

a server disposed on a network, the server configured to:

receive, from a mobile device, an insurance quote request including an image of a testing device and user information relating to an insurance quote;

determine diagnostic test results based on the image of the testing device;

transmit an insurance quote request including the diagnostic test results and at least a portion of the user information relating to the insurance quote to one or more insurance providers, responsive to determination of the diagnostic test results;

receive at least one insurance quote from the one or more insurance providers responsive to the insurance quote request, the at least one insurance quote determined responsive to the diagnostic test results and the at least the portion of the user information relating to the insurance quote; and

transmit the at least one insurance quote to the mobile device.
