Foldable display
A foldable display is disclosed. In one aspect, the foldable display includes a first display unit located on a front surface of the foldable display, a second display unit located on a first side surface of the foldable display, and a third display unit located on a second side surface of the foldable display. The foldable display includes a first configuration in which the first to third display units are exposed and a second configuration in which the first display unit is folded and the second and third display units are exposed. The second and third display units are configured to form a fourth display unit inclined with respect to the folded first display unit in the second configuration of the foldable display.
1. A display device, comprising:
a first display portion located on a front surface of the display device, wherein the display device is configured to be positioned in at least one folding configuration;
a second display portion located on a first side surface of the display device, wherein the second display portion is at a first angle with respect to the first display portion; and
a third display portion located on a second side surface of the display device, wherein the third display portion is at a second angle with respect to the first display portion,
wherein the at least one folding configuration comprises i) a first folding configuration in which the first display portion is folded and the first to third display portions are exposed or ii) a second folding configuration in which the first display portion is folded and only the second and third display portions are exposed,
wherein the second display portion and the third display portion are configured to display dependent information from each other when the display device is in the first folding configuration or the second folding configuration,
wherein the first angle has a first constant value regardless of the folding configuration of the display device, and
wherein the second angle has a second constant value regardless of the folding configuration of the display device.
2. The display device of claim 1 , wherein the first to third display portions are formed as a single flexible display panel.
3. The display device of claim 1 , wherein the first angle is different from the second angle.
4. The display device of claim 1 , wherein a sum of the first angle and the second angle is approximately 180°.
5. The display device of claim 1 , wherein the first display portion is formed as a flexible display panel and wherein the second and third display portions are each formed of a rigid display panel.
6. The display device of claim 1 , wherein the first display portion is not activated when the display device is in the second folding configuration.
7. The display device of claim 1 , wherein the first to third display portions are activated when the display device is in the first folding configuration.
8. A display device, comprising:
a first display portion located on a front surface of the display device;
a second display portion located on a first side surface of the display device, wherein the second display portion is inclined at a first constant angle with respect to the first display portion; and
a third display portion located on a second side surface of the display device, wherein the third display portion is inclined at a second constant angle with respect to the first display portion,
wherein the display device is configured to be arranged in i) a first folding configuration in which first display portion is folded and the first to third display portions are exposed or ii) a second folding configuration in which the first display portion is folded and only the second and third display portions are exposed, and
wherein the second display portion and the third display portion display dependent information from each other when the display device is in the first folding configuration or the second folding configuration.
9. The display device of claim 8 , wherein the first constant angle is different from the second constant angle.
10. The display device of claim 8 , wherein a sum of the first constant angle and the second constant angle is approximately 180°.
11. The display device of claim 1 , wherein the second display portion is located in a first region extending from one side of the first display portion and the third display portion is located in a second region extending from the other side of the first display portion.
12. The display device of claim 8 , wherein the second display portion is located in a first region extending from one side of the first display portion and the third display portion is located in a second region extending from the other side of the first display portion.
