Abstract

One or more accelerometers embedded with an earbud and/or a set of earphones are able to sense a moving pace of a user. Based on a moving pace of the user, a signal is sent to a remotely connected electronic device. The electronic device is able to separately increase and decrease a beat or rhythm of the audio from the electronic device based on a pace of the user. In some embodiments, an audio alert is sent to the user to inform the user of pace and whether the user has increased or decreased their pace. Additionally, in some embodiments, a program stored on the electronic device is used to compare the user's current progress and/or speed based on past runs and workouts.

Claims (30)

1. An earphone system comprising:

a. one or more earbud sensors comprising an earbud accelerometer and an oxygen level sensor incorporated within an earbud worn by a user, the earbud comprising a control device and an audio output circuit;

b. an electronic device operation circuit incorporated within the earbud configured to operate a remote electronic device, wherein the one or more earbud sensors send a signal to the control device within the earbud based on a status of the user as sensed by the one or more earbud sensors, and the control device sends a signal to the electronic device operation circuit to operate the remote electronic device based on the signal from the control device, and further wherein the audio output circuit outputs an alert when the user's oxygen level is outside of a range, wherein the remote electronic device sends an audio message that is the moving speed of the user to the control device within the earbud which then communicates the audio message that is the moving speed of the user to the audio output circuit within the earbud to be output to the user.

2. The earphone system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more earbud sensors further comprise heart rate sensor.

3. The earphones system of claim 2 , wherein the audio output circuit sends an alert that the user's heart rate is above a certain level.

4. The earphones system of claim 2 , wherein the audio output circuit sends an alert that the user's heart rate has fallen below a certain level.

5. The earphones system of claim 1 , wherein the audio output circuit sends an alert that the user's oxygen level is above a certain level.

6. The earphones system of claim 1 , wherein the audio output circuit sends an alert that the user's oxygen level is below a certain level.

7. The earphones system of claim 1 , wherein the earbud comprises a magnet for removably coupling with one of a magnetically attractable surface and a magnet.

8. An earbud comprising:

a. one or more earbud sensors comprising an earbud accelerometer and an oxygen level sensor for sensing a status of a user;

b. an audio output circuit; and

c. a control device, wherein the control device receives a signal from the one or more earbud sensors and sends a signal to an electronic device operation circuit within the earbud to operate a remote electronic device based on the signal from the one or more earbud sensors, and further wherein the control device sends an oxygen alert to the audio output circuit when the user's oxygen level is outside of a range, wherein the remote electronic device sends an audio alert that is the moving speed of the user to the control device within the earbud which then communicates the audio message that is the moving speed of the user to the audio output circuit within the earbud to be output to the user.

9. The earbud of claim 8 , wherein the one or more earbud sensors further comprise a heart rate sensor.

10. The earbud of claim 9 , wherein the audio output circuit outputs an alert that the user's heart rate is above a certain level.

11. The earbud of claim 9 , wherein the audio output circuit outputs an alert that the user's heart rate has fallen below a certain level.

12. The earbud of claim 8 , wherein the audio output circuit outputs an alert that the user's oxygen level is above a certain level.

13. The earbud of claim 8 , wherein the audio output circuit outputs an alert that the user's oxygen level is below a certain level.

14. The earbud of claim 8 , wherein the earbud comprises a magnet for removably coupling with one of a magnetically attractable surface and a magnet.

15. A method of utilizing one or more earbuds comprising:

a. sensing a status of a user using one or more earbud sensors comprising an earbud accelerometer and an oxygen level sensor;

b. based on the status of the user as sensed by the one or more earbud sensors, sending a signal from an electronic device operation circuit incorporated within the earbud to operate a remotely located electronic device;

c. sending an audio alert that is the moving speed of the user from the remotely located electronic device to the control device within the earbud which then communicates the audio alert that is the moving speed of the user to the audio output circuit within the one or more earbuds to be output to the user; and

d. outputting an oxygen alert from the audio output circuit when the user's oxygen level is outside of a range.

16. The method of claim 15 , wherein the one or more earbud sensors further comprise a heart rate sensor.

17. The method of claim 16 , wherein the alert indicates that the user's heart rate is above a certain level.

18. The method of claim 16 , wherein the alert indicates that the user's heart rate has fallen below a certain level.

19. The method of claim 15 , wherein the alert indicates that the user's oxygen level is above a certain level.

20. The method of claim 15 , wherein the alert indicates that the user's oxygen level is below a certain level.

21. The method of claim 15 , comprising coupling the one or more earbuds with one of a magnetically attractable surface and a magnet.
