Abstract

In a method of using structured communications in an observation platform with cloud computing, a signal from a first communication device is received by a second communication device associated with a first computer system. The second computer system forwards the signal from the first computer system to a second computer system, wherein the second computer system is physically remote from the first computer system and connected with the first computer system via a network. The second computer system derives context information for the signal, the deriving based on a plurality of factors derived from an analysis of the signal, wherein the plurality of factors comprises a speech to text analysis of the signal, and wherein the second computer system is cloud based. The second computer system determines at least one destination for the signal based on the plurality of factors for the context information.

Claims (56)

1. A method of using structured communications in an observation platform with cloud computing, comprising:

receiving, by a second computer system, a signal which was sent wirelessly from a first communication device and received by a second communication device coupled with a first computer system, wherein the second computer system a cloud-based entity which is physically remote from the first computer system and connected with the first computer system via a network;

deriving, by the second computer system, context information for said signal, said deriving based on analysis of a plurality of factors of said signal, wherein said plurality of factors comprises a speech-to-text conversion of an audible first characteristic of said signal; and

determining, by said second computer system, at least one destination for said signal based on said plurality of factors for said context information.

2. The method as recited in claim 1 , further comprising:

sending, by the second computer system, the context information and the at least one destination for the signal to the first computer system.

3. The method as recited in claim 1 , further comprising:

storing, by the second computer system, data associated with the observation platform, wherein the data comprises one of: signal logs, signals communicated to and from communication devices within the observation platform, and speech-to-text conversions of the signals communicated to and from communication devices within the observation platform.

4. The method as recited in claim 1 , further comprising:

determining, from the signal by the second computer system, geographic location data for the first communication device; and

storing, by the second computer system, the geographic location data in association with a time and the first communication device.

5. The method as recited in claim 1 , further comprising:

determining, from the signal by the second computer system, geographic location data for the first communication device; and

combining, by the second computer system, the geographic location data with other information to generate a performance metric.

6. The method as recited in claim 1 , wherein the deriving the context information comprises:

deriving performance metrics for a user of the first communication device.

7. The method as recited in claim 1 , wherein the deriving the context information comprises:

deriving performance metrics for a plurality of users within the observation platform.

8. The method as recited in claim 1 , wherein the deriving the context information comprises:

deriving metadata from the signal; and

deriving at least one performance metric from the signal by matching an attribute of the metadata to an attribute of a performance metric.

9. The method as recited in claim 1 , wherein the at least one destination is a third communication device that is within a radio range of the second communication device.

10. A non-transitory computer-usable storage medium having instructions embodied therein that when executed cause a computer system to perform a method of using structured communications in an observation platform with cloud computing, the method comprising:

receiving, by a second computer system, a signal which was sent wirelessly from a first communication device and received by a second communication device coupled with a first computer system, wherein the second computer system a cloud-based entity which is physically remote from the first computer system and connected with the first computer system via a network;

deriving, by the second computer system, context information for said signal, said deriving based on analysis of a plurality of factors of said signal, wherein said plurality of factors comprises a speech-to-text conversion of an audible first characteristic of said signal; and

determining, by said second computer system, at least one destination for said signal based on said plurality of factors for said context information.

11. The non-transitory computer-usable storage medium as recited in claim 10 , wherein the method further comprises:

sending, by the second computer system, the context information and the at least one destination for the signal to the first computer system.

12. The non-transitory computer-usable storage medium as recited in claim 10 , wherein the method further comprises:

storing, by the second computer system, data associated with the observation platform, wherein the data comprises one of: signal logs, signals communicated to and from communication devices within the observation platform, and speech-to-text conversions of the signals communicated to and from communication devices within the observation platform.

13. The non-transitory computer-usable storage medium as recited in claim 10 , wherein the method further comprises:

determining, from the signal by the second computer system, geographic location data for the first communication device; and

storing, by the second computer system, the geographic location data in association with a time and the first communication device.

14. The non-transitory computer-usable storage medium as recited in claim 10 , wherein the method further comprises:

determining, from the signal by the second computer system, geographic location data for the first communication device; and

combining, by the second computer system, the geographic location data with other information to generate a performance metric.

15. The non-transitory computer-usable storage medium as recited in claim 10 , wherein the deriving the context information comprises:

deriving metadata from the signal; and

deriving at least one performance metric from the signal by matching an attribute of the metadata to an attribute of a performance metric.

16. A communication mediating cloud-based computer system, comprising:

a memory; and

a processor, the processor configured to:

receive, from a first computer system, a signal which was sent wirelessly from a first communication device and received by a second communication device coupled with the first computer system, wherein the processor is cloud-based, and wherein the processor is physically remote from the first computer system and connected with the first computer system via a network;

derive, based on analysis of a plurality of factors of the signal, context information for the signal, wherein the plurality of factors comprises a speech-to-text conversion of an audible first characteristic of the signal; and

determine at least one destination for the signal based on the plurality of factors for the context information.

17. The communication mediating cloud-based computer system of claim 16 , wherein the processor is further configured to:

provide the context information and the at least one destination for the signal to the first computer system.

18. The communication mediating cloud-based computer system of claim 16 , wherein the processor is further configured to:
