Abstract

A display unit includes a plurality of pixels, a reflector layer, and an auxiliary electrode. Each of the plurality of pixels has a first electrode, an organic layer, and a second electrode in this order. The organic layer and the second electrode are provided on the first electrode. The organic layer includes a light-emitting layer. The reflector layer has a light-reflecting surface around each of the pixels. The auxiliary electrode is provided on the reflector layer and is projected from an upper end of the light-reflecting surface. The auxiliary electrode has a portion which is exposed from the organic layer, and the exposed portion is covered with the second electrode.

Claims (37)

1. A display unit, comprising:

a plurality of pixels, wherein

each pixel of the plurality of pixels includes:

a first electrode,

a first organic layer on the first electrode,

a second organic layer above the first organic layer, and

a second electrode on the first organic layer and the second organic layer,

the first organic layer is in direct contact with the second electrode, and

the first organic layer includes a light-emitting layer; and

a protruding portion that includes a first portion and a second portion, wherein

the first portion and the second portion are between the plurality of pixels,

the second portion is on the first portion,

an angle of inclination of a surface of the first portion with respect to the substrate is different from an angle of inclination of a surface of the second portion with respect to the substrate, and

at least one of the surface of the first portion or the surface of the second portion is configured to reflect light emitted from the light-emitting layer.

2. The display unit according to claim 1 , wherein the angle of inclination of the surface of the first portion with respect to the substrate is smaller than the angle of inclination of the surface of the second portion with respect to the substrate.

3. The display unit according to claim 2 , wherein the first organic layer is discontinuous along the protruding portion in a cross sectional view.

4. The display unit according to claim 3 , wherein

the first portion includes a first material, and

the second portion includes a second material different from the first material.

5. The display unit according to claim 4 , wherein a width of a top surface of the second portion is larger than a width of a top surface of the first portion in the cross sectional view.

6. The display unit according to claim 3 , wherein a height of the second portion is larger than a height of the first portion in the cross sectional view.

7. The display unit according to claim 4 , wherein the second organic layer is on the protruding portion.

8. An electronic apparatus, including:

a display unit that comprises:

a plurality of pixels, wherein

each pixel of the plurality of pixels includes:

a first electrode,

a first organic layer on the first electrode,

a second organic layer above the first organic layer, and

a second electrode on the first organic layer and the second organic layer,

the first organic layer is in direct contact with the second electrode, and

the first organic layer includes a light-emitting layer; and

a protruding portion that includes a first portion and a second portion, wherein

the first portion and the second portion are between the plurality of pixels,

the second portion is on the first portion,

an angle of inclination of a surface of the first portion with respect to the substrate is different from an angle of inclination of a surface of the second portion with respect to the substrate, and

at least one of the surface of the first portion or the surface of the second portion is configured to reflect light emitted from the light-emitting layer.
