Abstract

Disclosed is a method for transmitting a broadcast signal. A method for transmitting a broadcast signal according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: delivery layer processing broadcasting service data and signaling information for the broadcasting service data; UDP/IP encapsulating the broadcasting service data and signaling information for the broadcasting service data; and physical layer processing the broadcasting service data and signaling information for the broadcasting service data.

Claims (36)

1. A method for transmitting a broadcast signal in a transmitter, the method comprising:

generating service layer signaling (SLS) information, wherein the SLS information provides information for discovery and acquisition of at least one broadcast service and at least one content component of the at least one broadcast service, further the at least one content component comprises an audio component or a video component;

generating low level signaling (LLS) information, the LLS information including identification information for identifying a type of at least one table; and

transmitting the broadcast signal including the SLS information and the LLS information,

wherein the identification information included in the LLS information is used to represent a service list table (SLT) among the at least one table, further the SLT is used to enable a receiver to build a basic service list, and bootstrap a discovery of the SLS information for the at least one broadcast service, and

wherein the SLT includes SLS protocol information for indicating a type of a delivery protocol of the SLS information and uniform resource locator (URL) information comprising a first URL used for obtaining the SLS information via a broadband other than the delivery protocol,

wherein the first URL is used to make an hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) request for requesting a specific SLS information to a signaling server, and

wherein a response message for the HTTP request from the signaling server includes a metadata envelope, and the metadata envelope includes next URL information comprising a second URL for obtaining next scheduled update for the specific SLS information.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein

when the delivery protocol is a Real Time Object Delivery over Unidirectional Transport (ROUTE) protocol, the SLS information includes a media presentation description (MPD) fragment providing a description regarding a media presentation regarding the at least one broadcast service, and the MPD fragment includes an asset ID information for associating at least one content ID providing identification information of linear content and identification information of supplementary content of the at least one broadcast service.

3. The method of claim 2 , wherein

the at least one content ID includes a first content ID providing identification information of entertainment-related supplementary content and a second content ID providing identification information of advertisement-related supplementary content.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein

the SLT includes service category information, and a service category includes at least one of a linear audio/video service, a service of only linear audio, an app-based service, an electronic service guide (ESG) service, or an emergency alert system (EAS) service.

5. The method of claim 4 , wherein

when the service category is the ESG service, service data regarding the ESG service includes service guide information for announcing information regarding the at least one broadcast service, and the service guide information includes a service fragment having information regarding the at least one broadcast service and a content fragment having content information regarding the at least one broadcast service.

6. The method of claim 5 , wherein

the content fragment includes a preview icon element providing a third URL pointing to an icon used to represent the at least one broadcast service.

7. A broadcast signal transmitter for processing data, the broadcast signal transmitter comprising:

a processor configure to generate service layer signaling (SLS) information, wherein the SLS information provides information for discovery and acquisition of at least one broadcast service and at least one content component of the at least one broadcast service, further the at least one content component comprises an audio component or a video component;

generate low level signaling (LLS) information, the LLS information including identification information for identifying a type of at least one table; and

a transmitter configured to transmit a broadcast signal including the SLS information and the LLS information,

wherein the identification information included in the LLS information is used to represent a service list table (SLT) among the at least one table, further the SLT is used to enable a receiver to build a basic service list, and bootstrap a discovery of the SLS information for the at least one broadcast service, and

wherein the SLT includes SLS protocol information for indicating a type of a delivery protocol of the SLS information and uniform resource locator (URL) information comprising a first URL used for obtaining the SLS information via a broadband other than the delivery protocol, wherein the first URL is used to make an hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) request for requesting a specific SLS information to a signaling server, and

wherein a response message for the HTTP request from the signaling server includes a metadata envelope, and the metadata envelope includes next URL information comprising a second URL for obtaining next scheduled update for the specific SLS information.

8. The broadcast signal transmitter of claim 7 , wherein

when the delivery protocol is a Real Time Object Delivery over Unidirectional Transport (ROUTE) protocol, the SLS information includes a media presentation description (MPD) fragment providing a description regarding a media presentation regarding the at least one broadcast service, and the MPD fragment includes an asset ID information for associating at least one content ID providing identification information of linear content and identification information of supplementary content of the at least one broadcast service.

9. The broadcast signal transmitter of claim 8 , wherein

the at least one content ID includes a first content ID providing identification information of entertainment-related supplementary content and a second content ID providing identification information of advertisement-related supplementary content.

10. The broadcast signal transmitter of claim 7 , wherein

the SLT includes service category information, and a service category

includes at least one of a linear audio/video service, a service of only linear audio, an app-based service, an electronic service guide (ESG) service, or an emergency alert system (EAS) service.

11. The broadcast signal transmitter of claim 10 , wherein

when the service category is the ESG service, service data regarding the ESG service includes service guide information for announcing information regarding the at least one broadcast service, and the service guide information includes a service fragment having information regarding the at least one broadcast service and a content fragment having content information regarding the at least one broadcast service.

12. The broadcast signal transmitter of claim 11 , wherein

the content fragment includes a preview icon element providing a third URL pointing to an icon used to represent the at least one broadcast service.
