Abstract

The field of the invention relates to systems and methods for interfacing with a third party website. In one embodiment, a computer system is configured to directly interface with a website via a webpage to change certain numerical values through the use of digital codes. The digital codes are applied to a data entry interface on the webpage, and the responses are monitored and transmitted back to a server system.

Claims (37)

1. An online computer system that causes a certain numerical value displayed on a checkout webpage of a third party retailer website to change in value comprising:

a system coupled to a public network configured to store one or more digital codes that cause the certain numerical value to change when applied to the checkout webpage of the third party retailer website;

a browser software installed on a user device, with a display, that is operably connected to the public network, said browser software configured to:

receive the one or more digital codes over the public network;

when a user opens the checkout webpage, generate a single graphical trigger to be presented on the display;

upon a user selection of the single graphical trigger, automatically perform the following steps:

apply each of the one or more digital codes to the checkout webpage to invoke a respective function on the checkout webpage for each of the one or more digital codes without selection of each of the one or more digital codes by the user, thereby triggering the checkout webpage to receive each of the one or more digital codes and to return a respective response to each of the one or more digital codes;

monitor the respective returned response to each of the one or more digital codes from the checkout webpage to determine which of the one or more digital codes causes a change in the certain numerical value and determine a respective amount of change in the certain numerical value caused by each of the one or more digital codes;

store in a memory one or more of the determined digital codes along with data that shows a respective amount each of the one or more of the determined digital codes causes the certain numerical value to change in value, wherein the system is further configured to determine a digital code causing a greatest amount of change in the certain numerical value; and

apply the digital code causing the greatest amount of change in the certain numerical value to obtain and display a resulting numerical value on the checkout webpage.

2. The online computer system of claim 1 , wherein the checkout webpage includes a data entry field to which each of the of the one or more digital codes is applied.

3. The online computer system of claim 2 , wherein the data entry field is identified by examining HyperText Markup Language (HTML) content on the checkout webpage.

The online computer system of claim 1 , wherein the browser software is further configured to generate a visual indicator over the checkout webpage while the one or more digital codes are automatically applied to the checkout webpage, wherein the visual indicator illustrates how much progress is being made.

5. The online computer system of claim 1 , wherein the system is configured to remove digital codes that do not cause the certain numerical value to change.

6. The online computer system of claim 1 , wherein the browser software is implemented for installation on a mobile device.

7. The online computer system of claim 1 , wherein the system further includes configuration instructions that specify how the one or more digital codes are applied to the checkout webpage.

8. The online computer system of claim 1 , wherein the single graphical trigger is a digital graphical button.

9. The online computer system of claim 1 , wherein the browser software is further configured to enable the user to complete a transaction on the checkout webpage using the resulting numerical value.

10. The online computer system of claim 1 , wherein the checkout webpage includes a checkout interface to which each of the of the one or more digital codes is applied.

11. The online computer system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more digital codes are generated based on historical data from other users collected for the third party retailer website about whether a digital code enables the certain numerical value to change.

12. An electronic method for interfacing with a checkout webpage of a third party retailer website to cause a certain numerical value displayed on the checkout webpage to change in value comprising:

receiving one or more digital codes that cause the certain numerical value to change when applied to the checkout webpage over a public network by a user computing device, having an electronic display, via browser software;

when a user opens the checkout webpage, generating a single graphical trigger to be presented on the electronic display;

upon the user's selection of the single graphical trigger, automatically performing following steps:

applying each of the one or more digital codes to the checkout webpage to invoke a respective function on the checkout webpage for each of the one or more digital codes without selection of each of the one or more digital codes by the user, thereby triggering the checkout webpage to receive each of the one or more digital codes and to return a respective response to each of the one or more digital codes;

monitoring the respective returned response to each of the one or more digital codes from the checkout webpage to identify which of the one or more digital codes causes a change in the certain numerical value and determine a respective amount of change in the certain numerical value caused by each of the one or more digital codes;

storing in a memory one or more of the identified digital codes along with data that shows a respective amount each of the one or more of the identified digital codes causes the certain numerical value to change in value;

determining a digital code causing a greatest amount of change in the certain numerical value; and

applying the digital code causing the greatest amount of change in the certain numerical value to obtain and display a resulting numerical value on the checkout webpage.

13. The electronic method of claim 12 , wherein the checkout webpage includes a data entry field to which each of the one or more digital codes is applied.

14. The electronic method of claim 13 , wherein the data entry field is identified by examining HyperText Markup Language (HTML) content on the checkout webpage.

15. The electronic method of claim 12 , further comprising generating a visual indicator over the checkout webpage while the one or more digital codes are automatically applied to the checkout webpage, wherein the visual indicator illustrates how much progress is being made.

16. The electronic method of claim 12 , further comprising removing digital codes from storage that do not cause the certain numerical value to change.

17. The electronic method of claim 12 , wherein the browser software further includes configuration instructions that specify how the one or more digital codes are applied to the checkout webpage.

18. The electronic method of claim 12 , wherein the single graphical trigger is a digital graphical button.

19. The electronic method of claim 12 , wherein the one or more digital codes are generated based on historical interactions of multiple users with the checkout webpage.

20. The electronic method of claim 12 , wherein the checkout webpage includes a checkout interface to which each of the one or more digital codes is applied.
