Abstract

Mounting plates for elevating platforms, including a mounting apparatus with interior and exterior reinforcement components elongated vertically. The interior reinforcement piece includes an embedded bolt that extends from the interior reinforcement piece, through a wall of the platform, and through the exterior reinforcement component. The interior and exterior reinforcement components have a stepped construction to convert peel stress to shear stress.

2. The mounting apparatus of claim 1 , wherein a height-to-width ratio of the at least one exterior reinforcement component is between 3 and 6.

3. The mounting apparatus of claim 1 , wherein a height-to-width ratio of the at least one interior reinforcement component is between 3 and 6.

4. The mounting apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the at least one interior reinforcement component includes a first subcomponent and a second subcomponent, and wherein a length and a width of the first subcomponent are half of a length and half of a width of the second subcomponent.

5. The mounting apparatus of claim 4 , wherein the first subcomponent includes a protrusion, wherein the protrusion is constructed to receive and electrically insulate the at least one fastener.

6. The mounting apparatus of claim 4 , wherein the at least one fastener is integrated within the first subcomponent.

7. The mounting apparatus of claim 4 , wherein the at least one fastener is reversibly or irreversibly attached to the first subcomponent.

8. The mounting apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the interior reinforcement component includes a protrusion that is constructed to receive and electrically insulate the at least one fastener.

9. The mounting apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the at least one interior reinforcement component, the at least one wall, and the at least one exterior reinforcement component are constructed to allow a free running fit for the at least one fastener.

10. The mounting apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising a dielectric cover component positioned over the at least one interior reinforcement component and the at least one fastener.

11. The mounting apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the dielectric cover component is constructed from a non-conductive thermoplastic or a non-conductive thermoset.

12. The mounting apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the at least one interior component or the at least one exterior reinforcement component are constructed from a non-conductive thermoplastic or a non-conductive thermoset.

13. The mounting apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the at least one interior reinforcement component or the at least one exterior reinforcement component is constructed from fiber-reinforced thermosets, unreinforced thermosets, fiber-reinforced thermoplastics, or unreinforced thermoplastics.

14. The mounting apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the at least one interior reinforcement component or the at least one exterior reinforcement component is constructed from filled thermoplastic or filled thermoset.

15. The mounting apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the at least one exterior reinforcement component is constructed with stepped layers.

16. The mounting apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the stepped layers are oblique toward a vertical midline of the platform.

17. The mounting apparatus of claim 15 , wherein the stepped layers are a series of raised thicknesses that extend away from a surface of the at least one wall.

18. The mounting apparatus of claim 17 , wherein each step of the stepped layers decreases in enclosed area as each step extends away from the surface of the at least one wall.

19. The mounting apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the at least one interior reinforcement component and the at least one exterior reinforcement component are mechanically attached to the at least one wall.

20. A mounting apparatus for an elevating platform with at least one wall comprising:

an at least one exterior reinforcement component and at least one fastener;

wherein the at least one exterior reinforcement component is positioned on an exterior of the at least one wall;

wherein the at least one exterior reinforcement component is constructed with a stepped shape;

wherein the at least one fastener is partially inside of the platform and extends from the at least one wall through the at least one exterior reinforcement component.

21. The mounting apparatus of claim 20 , wherein a portion of the at least one exterior reinforcement component is in compression with the at least one wall when a vertical load is applied.

22. The mounting apparatus of claim 20 , wherein the stepped shape redirects peel stress into shear stress along the stepped shape.

23. The mounting apparatus of claim 20 , wherein layers of the stepped shape are a series of raised thicknesses that extend away from a surface of the at least one wall.

24. The mounting apparatus of claim 23 , wherein each of the layers of the stepped shape decreases in enclosed area as each extends away from the surface of the at least one wall.

25. The mounting apparatus of claim 20 , wherein at least two steps of the stepped shape are non-uniform in thickness.

26. The mounting apparatus of claim 25 , wherein a first step is approximately 0.060 inches (1.524 millimeters) thick, and wherein a second step and third step are each approximately 0.030 inches (0.762 millimeters) thick.

27. The mounting apparatus of claim 20 , wherein layers of the stepped shape are oblique toward a vertical midline of the platform.

28. The mounting apparatus of claim 20 , wherein the at least one exterior reinforcement component is constructed from reinforced thermosets, unreinforced thermosets, reinforced thermoplastics, or unreinforced thermoplastics.

29. The mounting apparatus of claim 20 , further comprising an at least one interior reinforcement component including a first subcomponent and a second subcomponent, wherein a length and a width of the first subcomponent are half of a length and half of a width of the second subcomponent.

30. A mounting apparatus for an elevating platform with at least one wall comprising:

at least two interior reinforcement assemblies, at least two exterior reinforcement components, and at least four fasteners;

wherein the at least two interior reinforcement assemblies are positioned on an interior of the at least one wall;

wherein the at least two exterior reinforcement components are positioned on an exterior of the at least one wall;

wherein the at least two interior reinforcement assemblies each include a first subcomponent; and
