Factor H binding proteins (fHbp) with altered properties and methods of use thereof
View Patent ↗Factor H binding proteins that can elicit antibodies that are bactericidal for at least one strain of N. meningitidis , and methods of use of such proteins, are provided.
1. A nucleic acid encoding a non-naturally occurring factor H binding protein (fHbp) comprising an amino acid sequence, wherein the amino acid sequence is at least 95% identical to the entire length of the amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO:1 and comprises the substitution of the arginine at position 41 with serine.
2. The nucleic acid according to claim 1 , wherein the non-naturally occurring fHbp differs from the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:1 by 1 to 10 amino acids.
3. A recombinant expression vector comprising the nucleic acid of claim 1 .
4. A recombinant expression vector comprising the nucleic acid of claim 2 .
5. A genetically modified host cell comprising the nucleic acid of claim 1 .
