MACRO-CEMENT COMPOSITIONS, METHOD OF PRODUCING MACRO-CEMENT AND ENGINEERED FORMS OF MACRO-CEMENT, AND MULTI-STAGE HOMOGENIZATION PROCESS FOR PREPARING CEMENT BASED MATERIALS
A macro-cement and associated methods useful for preparing pastes, mortars, concretes and other cement-based materials having high workability, high density, and high strength are disclosed. A method of producing a macro-cement includes cement, supplemental cementitious materials (SCM's), including siliceous submicron-sized particles and nano-sized particles, and polymers in the form of liquid or dry chemical admixtures for concrete. The cement mixture may be used for making ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC).
1 . A multicomponent macro-cement composition comprising:
cementitious materials comprising micron-sized particles; and
supplemental cementitious materials (SCM's) of submicron or nano-sized particles or a combination thereof coated or loaded on the cementitious materials utilizing physicochemical activation.
2 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the cementitious materials further comprise pozzolanic materials of micron-sized particles.
3 . The composition of claim 1 , further comprising aggregates.
4 . The composition of claim 1 , further comprising reinforcement fibres.
5 . The composition of claim 1 , further comprising a binder.
6 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the composition is produced in the form of granules, pellets, briquettes or tables.
7 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the SCM's are siliceous-SiO 2 -containing particles.
8 . The composition of claim 5 , wherein the binder is a polymer in the form of liquid or powdered chemical additives.
9 . The composition of claim 8 , wherein the additives are superplasticizer/high range water reducers, plasticizer/mid and normal range water reducers, and/or retarding or accelerating admixtures for concrete.
10 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the SCM's are affixed to the cementitious materials by dry coating without use of a binder.
11 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the composition is produced in the form of granules, pellets, briquettes or tablets by mechanical activation during the process of coating and/or loading of the cementitious materials.
