Abstract

A method and apparatus for channel state information feedback and a storage medium are provided according to the present disclosure. The method includes: performing by a terminal channel measurement according to a reference signal; selecting M subbands from K subbands of a CSI reporting band, and reporting to a base station the M subbands' Relative Power Indicator (RPI) and Phase Indicator (PI) of a weighted coefficient associated with a precoding codebook index, where M and K are integers greater than or equal to 1, M<K; each subband is a set of R resource blocks RB, where R is an integer greater than or equal to 1.

Claims (52)

1. A method for wireless communication, comprising:

performing, by a terminal, a channel measurement according to a reference signal from a base station;

selecting, by the terminal, M subbands from K subbands of a Channel State Information (CSI) reporting band for providing CSI feedback, wherein M and K are integers greater than or equal to 1, wherein M<K, and wherein the M subbands are in a comb-shaped distribution in the K subbands; and

reporting, by the terminal to the base station, a phase coefficient indicator corresponding to the M subbands, wherein the phase coefficient indicator is associated with a precoding codebook index indicating a precoding codebook that is a linear combination of a set of vectors, wherein the phase coefficient indicator is associated with a weighted coefficient used in the linear combination of the set of vectors, and wherein each subband includes a set of R resource blocks (RBs), R being an integer greater than or equal to 1.

2. The method of claim 1 , comprising:

reporting, by the terminal to the base station, an amplitude coefficient indicator corresponding to the M subbands, wherein the amplitude coefficient indicator is associated with the precoding codebook index.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein selecting the M subbands comprises:

dividing the K subbands into N subband sets, and

selecting the M subbands based on the N subband sets, wherein N is an integer greater than 1.

4. The method of claim 3 , wherein the dividing comprises:

dividing the K subbands into N subband sets evenly.

5. A method for wireless communication, comprising:

transmitting, by a base station, a reference signal to a terminal for performing a channel measurement; and

receiving, by the base station from the terminal, a phase coefficient indicator corresponding to M subbands, wherein the phase coefficient indicator is associated with a precoding codebook index indicating a precoding codebook that is a linear combination of a set of vectors, wherein the phase coefficient indicator is associated with a weighted coefficient used in the linear combination of the set of vectors, wherein the M subbands are selected from K subbands of a CSI reporting band, M and K being integers greater than or equal to 1 and M<K, wherein the M subbands are in a comb-shaped distribution in the K subbands, and wherein each subband includes a set of R resource blocks (RBs), R being an integer greater than or equal to 1.

6. The method of claim 5 , comprising:

receiving, by the base station from the terminal, an amplitude coefficient indicator corresponding to the M subbands, wherein the amplitude coefficient indicator is associated with the precoding codebook index.

7. A device for wireless communication, comprising:

a processor; and

a memory including processor executable code, wherein the processor executable code upon execution by the processor configures the processor to:

perform a channel measurement according to a reference signal from a base station;

select M subbands from K subbands of a Channel State Information (CSI) reporting band for providing CSI feedback, wherein M and K are integers greater than or equal to 1, wherein M<K, and wherein the M subbands are in a comb-shaped distribution in the K subbands; and

report, to the base station, a phase coefficient indicator corresponding to the M subbands, wherein the phase coefficient indicator is associated with a precoding codebook index indicating a precoding codebook that is a linear combination of a set of vectors, wherein the phase coefficient indicator is associated with a weighted coefficient used in the linear combination of the set of vectors, and wherein each subband includes a set of R resource blocks (RBs), R being an integer greater than or equal to 1.

8. The device of claim 7 , wherein the processor executable code upon execution by the processor configures the processor to:

report, to the base station, an amplitude coefficient indicator corresponding to the M subbands, wherein the amplitude coefficient indicator is associated with the precoding codebook index.

9. The device of claim 8 , wherein the M subbands are selected by:

dividing the K subbands into N subband sets; and

selecting the M subbands based on the N subband sets, wherein N is an integer greater than 1.

10. The device of claim 9 , wherein the dividing comprises:

dividing the K subbands into N subband sets evenly.

11. A device for wireless communication, comprising:

a processor; and

a memory including processor executable code, wherein the processor executable code upon execution by the processor configures the processor to:

transmit a reference signal to a terminal for performing a channel measurement; and

receive, from the terminal, a phase coefficient indicator corresponding to M subbands, wherein the phase coefficient indicator is associated with a precoding codebook index indicating a precoding codebook that is a linear combination of a set of vectors, wherein the phase coefficient indicator is associated with a weighted coefficient used in the linear combination of the set of vectors, and wherein the M subbands are selected from K subbands of a CSI reporting band, M and K being integers greater than or equal to 1 and M<K, wherein the M subbands are in a comb-shaped distribution in the K subbands, and wherein each subband includes a set of R resource blocks (RBs), R being an integer greater than or equal to 1.

12. The device of claim 11 , wherein the processor executable code upon execution by the processor configures the processor to:

receive, from the terminal, an amplitude coefficient indicator corresponding to the M subbands, wherein the amplitude indicator is associated with the precoding codebook index.

13. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium, wherein the computer-readable storage medium stores computer-executable instructions configured to execute a method that comprises:

performing, by a terminal, a channel measurement according to a reference signal from a base station;

selecting, by the terminal, M subbands from K subbands of a Channel State Information (CSI) reporting band for providing CSI feedback, wherein M and K are integers greater than or equal to 1, wherein M<K, and wherein the M subbands are in a comb-shaped distribution in the K subbands; and

reporting, by the terminal to the base station, a phase coefficient indicator corresponding to the M subbands, wherein the phase coefficient indicator is associated with a precoding codebook index indicating a precoding codebook that is a linear combination of a set of vectors, wherein the phase coefficient indicator is associated with a weighted coefficient used in the linear combination of the set of vectors, and wherein each subband includes a set of R resource blocks (RBs), R being an integer greater than or equal to 1.

14. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 13 , wherein the method comprises:

reporting, by the terminal to the base station, an amplitude coefficient indicator corresponding to the M subbands, wherein the amplitude coefficient indicator is associated with the precoding codebook index.

15. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 13 , wherein selecting the M subbands comprises:

dividing the K subbands into N subband sets, and

selecting the M subbands based on the N subband sets, wherein N is an integer greater than 1.

16. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein the dividing comprises:

dividing the K subbands into N subband sets evenly.

17. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium, wherein the computer-readable storage medium stores computer-executable instructions configured to execute a method that comprises:

transmitting, by a base station, a reference signal to a terminal for performing a channel measurement; and

receiving, by the base station from the terminal, a phase coefficient indicator corresponding to M subbands, wherein the phase coefficient indicator is associated with a precoding codebook index indicating a precoding codebook that is a linear combination of a set of vectors, wherein the phase coefficient indicator is associated with a weighted coefficient used in the linear combination of the set of vectors, and wherein the M subbands are selected from K subbands of a CSI reporting band, M and K being integers greater than or equal to 1 and M<K, wherein the M subbands are in a comb-shaped distribution in the K subbands, and wherein each subband includes a set of R resource blocks (RBs), R being an integer greater than or equal to 1.

18. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 17 , wherein the method comprises:

receiving, by the base station from the terminal, an amplitude coefficient indicator corresponding to the M subbands, wherein the amplitude coefficient indicator is associated with the precoding codebook index.
