Abstract

A steel for manufacturing a component by hot forming after austenization includes in weight % less than or equal to 0.2%, carbon (C), less than or equal to 3.5% silicon (Si), 1.5-16.0% manganese (Mn), 8.0-14.0% chromium (Cr), less than or equal to 6.0% nickel (Ni), less than or equal to 1.0% nitrogen (N), less than or equal to 1.2% niobium (Nb) linked to the formula Nb=4x(C+N), less than or equal to 1.2% titanium (Ti) so that Ti=4x(C+N)+0.15, and optionally less than or equal to 2.0% molybdenum (Mo), less than or equal to 0.15% vanadium (V), less than or equal to 2.0% copper (Cu), less than 0.2% aluminum (Al), less than or equal to 0.05% boron (B), the rest being iron and evitable impurities.

Claims (14)

1. A steel having ductile austenitic areas existing in a martensitic matrix, the steel comprising:

in weight % less than or equal to 0.2%, carbon (C), less than or equal to 3.5% silicon (Si), 3.0-16.0% manganese (Mn), 8.0-14.0% chromium (Cr), less than or equal to 6.0% nickel (Ni), less than or equal to 1.0% nitrogen (N), less than or equal to 1.2% niobium (Nb) linked to the formula Nb=4x(C+N), less than or equal to 1.2% titanium (Ti) so that Ti=4x(C+N)+0.15, and further optionally less than or equal to 2.0% molybdenum (Mo), less than or equal to 0.15% vanadium (V), less than or equal to 2.0% copper (Cu), less than 0.2% aluminum (Al), less than or equal to 0.05% boron (B), the remainder comprising iron and evitable impurities; and

wherein the yield strength of the steel R p0.2 is in the range of 1100-1350 MPa, the tensile strength of the steel R m is in the range of 1600-1750 MPa, and the elongation of the steel A 40x8 is in the range of 10-12.5%.

2. The steel according to the claim 1 , wherein the steel comprises 0.08-0.18% carbon (C).

3. The steel according to claim 1 , wherein the steel comprises less than equal to 2.0% silicon (Si).

4. The steel according to claim 1 , wherein the steel comprises 3.0-7.0% manganese (Mn).

5. The steel according to claim 1 , wherein the steel comprises 9.5-12.5% chromium (Cr).

6. The steel according to claim 1 , wherein the steel comprises less than or equal to 0.8% nickel (Ni).

7. The steel according to claim 1 , wherein the steel comprises 0.05-0.6% nitrogen (N).

8. The steel according to claim 1 , wherein the steel comprises 0.08-0.25% niobium (Nb) so that Nb=4x(C+N).

9. The steel according to claim 1 , wherein the steel comprises 0.3-0.4% titanium (Ti) so that Ti=4x(C+N)+0.15.

10. The steel according to claim 9 , wherein the Ti content in the steel is 48/12% C+48/14% N.

11. The steel according to claim 1 , wherein the steel comprises optionally 0.5-0.7% molybdenum (Mo).

12. The steel of claim 1 , the steel being hot formed after austenization.
