Abstract
Methods and egg yolk powder containing compositions for improving skeletal muscle protein fractional synthetic rate (FSR) in mammals and inhibiting or reversing sarcopenia are provided.
Claims (1)
1. A method for improving skeletal muscle protein fractional synthetic rate (FSR) in older mammals, said method comprising administering to the older mammal a composition consisting of egg yolk powder and one or more additional agents selected from creatine, Vitamin D, selective androgen receptor molecules, ghrelin agonists, myostatin antibodies, activin IIR antagonists, angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors, beta antagonists, and fast skeletal muscle troponin activators.
