Abstract

To provide a display device that is suitable for increasing in size, a display device in which display unevenness is suppressed, or a display device that can display an image along a curved surface. The display device includes a first display panel and a second display panel each including a pair of substrates. The first display panel and the second display panel each include a first region which can transmit visible light, a second region which can block visible light, and a third region which can perform display. The third region of the first display panel and the first region of the second display panel overlap each other. The third region of the first display panel and the second region of the second display panel do not overlap each other.

Claims (18)

1. A display device comprising:

a first display panel; and

a second display panel on and in contact with the first display panel,

wherein each of the first display panel and the second display panel comprises a display region, a light-transmitting region, a light-blocking region,

wherein the first display panel and the second display panel emit light in the same direction,

wherein the light-transmitting region of the second display panel overlaps with the display region of the first display panel,

wherein the display region of the second display panel overlaps with the light-blocking region of the first display panel,

wherein the first display panel and the second display panel are flexible display panels,

wherein the first display panel and the second display panel are configured to curve along a curved surface of an installation surface of the display device,

wherein the light-transmitting region of each of the first display panel and the second display panel comprises a light-transmitting member on two adjacent sides of the display region, and

wherein the light-blocking region of each of the first display panel and the second display panel comprises a wiring on the other two adjacent sides of the display region.

2. The display device according to claim 1 , wherein a display luminance is configured to be locally increased in the region of the first display panel where the display region of the first display panel overlaps with the light-transmitting region of the second display panel.

3. The display device according to claim 1 , wherein the display region of the first display panel and the display region of the second display panel are placed seamlessly.

4. The display device according to claim 1 , wherein the display region of the first display panel and the display region of the second display panel overlap with each other.

5. The display device according to claim 1 , further comprising a touch panel.

6. The display device according to claim 1 , wherein the display device is one of a television device, digital signage, and a public information display.

7. The display device according to claim 1 , wherein the installation surface is an exterior surface of a wall or a column.

8. The display device according to claim 1 , wherein the installation surface is an interior surface of a wall or a column.
